Me too, I thought it was going in! Jumped up to celebrate.
-
So funny, he must have got too excited about celebrating as is usually left to just punch the air!
-
I've seen this advertised. You will have to let us know how it is Chris! I doubt I will be able to make any though as work 6-8 on a Friday.
-
Yeah, I've always been a bit sceptical about that website, but it seems legit - might sign up now! I've been signed up since it went to having to pay, some of the jobs are very good. Some very random ones on as well though. But often the jobs are not on any other websites.
-
Football-jobs website, got to pay to view any of the job info.

They probably cant forchild protection laws (same reason why english players under a certain age cant be in football manager) Yeah I didn't mean with names and all, just a little info on results and development stuff like that.

Such a shame that most of them haven't got a clue though. My mate plays at Hartlepool U18's and his coach was a good player for Pools back in his day but his coaching methods are terrible and all he does is effs and blinds and kicks off on the touchline. A typical joystick manager. It really is frustrating. Yeah it is very much who and not what you know at times in football, as I have found out over the past couple of years. Not that I should really complain as I am in a brilliant place to coach.
-
It should. It only had the coaches names and nothing else. Saying that on SAFC website you can click on the coaches and see what their qualifications are etc...which shows what you have to work to. And it would be great for the players to be able to show people that they're on the website and has a little bio on them like the Academy players get. Yeah that would be really good, but I think it's the whole child protection thing gone mad. In the paper for the youth football write up's they aren't allowed to put the players names on. I don't think the SAFC website has been updated for a while as I know a guy who coaches at the academy but isn't on the website.

It really is an incredible opportunity for someone, but what I find quite strange is the A license part. As wasn't Steve Stone briefly in that role and last I heard he didn't have his UEFA B. The website should have more info on the Under 9's to 16's. My cousin is in the Under 9's at the moment.

For me it's jobs for the boys, aiming it all more at the ex-pro's!

The club is advertising for a new coach for the under 18 Academy team. This is the criteria of the job listing: ACADEMY UNDER 18 YOUTH COACH NEWCASTLE UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB The successful applicant will have responsibility for co-ordinating, developing and enhancing the ‘Player Development Programme’ for the emerging young talent at Newcastle United Football Academy. The successful applicant will have: • Experience of coaching ‘elite’ young players within the Academy Programme; • Knowledge and experience of all aspects of ‘Long Term Player Development’; • UEFA ‘A’ Advanced Coaching Licence; • Working knowledge of the Academy system and the Youth Development Programme; • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with enthusiasm, knowledge and a commitment to the development of ‘elite’ young football players.

I was wondering when it was all going to be announced and the venue for the North East being announced. Pretty mad really that you have to go down to York for first 5 days, then 4 days, then the support days. The FA really are trying to stop people doing the level 3. So much for wanting more coaches across the country! I need to find out what's happening with my level 3. For my final assessment when I get my pack sorted and signed off.
-
Might have to be both of them if Williamson gets a ban after the FA look into his push on Elmander!
-
That's good then! Does that course feed you into a University in the 3rd year?
-
Yeah that is very very true. Football is a very small world and most people do know each other. I've got quite a broad network now with the different teams I have coached and played for over the years. Of course with my Uni course as well. Where are you doing your course again?
-
Yeah that is very true! Been there done that myself. Have been thinking about it again but to be honest I want to coach here. Watched U12 11-a-side boys game on Sunday and I was very impressed with the standard. Been a while since I've seen a boys game with mainly working with girls at the moment.
-
But how many of the players were in the WC squads? Cannot imagine it's very many.
-
Man, that's a bit pants like. Wonder how long that'll last? Chances are it's a knee jerk reaction to the media's shouting after the World Cup. Not really sure to be honest. It's like the FA's way of saying jobs for the boys again really. Aiming more at the ex-pros or players who didn't quite make it, rather than your average person getting into coaching. It's not very good news for the people doing level 2 now as it's going to make progessing onto the level 3 even more difficult. Especially as at the moment you would have the chance to go along and see the course with Durham/Northumberland FA whereas from next year chances are they won't get the course. Sheffield is in the North East area as well so could mean big travelling for at least 3 weeks to do the course. I'm waiting at the moment for the dates to be released for the next lot of Youth Modules, as missed out on doing the first 2 this year!

If I remember rightly I am sure I done defending for 4 linked sessions. Other ideas for sessions could be attacking building it up from 1v1 to 2v1 all the way up to the SSG. Passing is another good one you can work out over the 4 sessions as you can start with simple short passing, using it in SSG's then long passing and being able to challenge your players in picking the right passes at the right times.

I meant to post about this ages ago after I had my support day for level 3. The FA has the UEFA B course back from first for sport so the level 3 won't exist anymore after this year. From next year the FA will be running the UEFA B courses again, with the course time increasing from 90 hours to 120 hours. Local FA's will no longer be running a course each, instead a venue will be chosen within a region! It's looking like the FA are trying to be more selective on who does the course, the price is going to be around £500 as well. But that has not been totally confirmed yet. So much for wanting more coaches to be qualified at UEFA B level! This then puts more pressure on those coaches who have done the current course (myself included) to get it completed in time.

Apparently cheap tickets were offered to people living in the surrounding areas.

Howay the lads!!! Cannot decide whether I am nervous or excited . . . actually a bit of both!!!

Such a sad day for football. I cannot even begin to imagine how the fans are feeling right now
