He tired in his last 10 minutes, but before that he was holding our attacking effort together.
-
I can't say I rate either of them that highly. Colo is too slow and Taylor looks like he's hiding from responsibility a lot of the time.
-
Me too. West Brom looked like a team. We were reliant on individual efforts. Barton can't come back soon enough.
-
Yes. They're the better side.
-
In the course of the season, that could be a very important goal. We really needed that.
-
I'm dreading to see what Ishmael Miller is going to do to our defence.
-
Wrong - the ball would never have got there if it wasn't for desperate dan on the right hand side. Okay, Simpson bungled as well. But Colo saw the threat and for some reason ignored it. What was he playing at? Space doesn't score goals.
-
Colo's fault 100%. He knew where Bednar was and just left him in space.
-
R.Taylor on for Simpson, but that'd be about it. Ranger for Lovenkrands.
-
Well I can certainly see them scoring again. Their movement and passing in the midfield is so much better than ours. However, when we get the ball in their final third, we look like scoring as well. It just depends on the run of the ball with this one. Poor old Lovenkrands is really struggling. I'd put on Ranger, but I guess most of us would. Shola's actually doing a good job. We'd have no threat at all if it wasn't for him.
-
Our experienced but rather immobile midfield is being overrun.

I don't know where this latest story has come from, but it is the third explanation we've had for this '£7 million' figure, and each explanation has been completely different. I'd say there are short odds on us getting a fourth pretty soon. In any event, transferring an asset from one of your companies to another does not mean you've made money. A child could understand that.
-
Put another way - there has to be two defenders between the attacker and the goal-line for the attacker to be onside. It doesn't matter whether the defender is a goalkeeper or an outfield player. Actually, I've probably confused things there. Hopefully not.
-
Disappointing, but sticking in a transfer request at the beginning of the transfer window and then withdrawing it 2 weeks later is a bit naff. Sounds like attention-seeking.
-
It's unusual these days, with the sophisticated surgery that's available, for a player to have their career knackered this early. If there's still hope of a recovery, he's surely worth the chance, because I think he's a big talent.

really? I remember that. SJH had a lot to learn back then. mmm, why was he commenting in match programmes in the 80's, when he had nowt to do with the club then? My memory is that it was during the period of power struggle between the McKeag board and the Magpie Group. I don't think SJH was on the Board at that point, but McKeag invited him to put forward his plans in the match programme, knowing that it wouldn't go down well. Things changed, particularly after Keegan took over, but initially Hall only wanted to involve himself as a businessman, and he made no secret of that. He wasn't driven by sentiment at all, in that period. Madras may be right - it may have been just a ground share rather than a full merger. Either way, it was one of those inconvenient facts of history that doesn't sit comfortably and has been quietly forgotten.
-
It's a widely forgotten fact that SJH's first proposal, as outlined in a match programme in the 1980's, was for Newcastle and Sunderland to merge and play in a new stadium at Washington. Honest.

For me, they either take over or remain a protest group. They can't work in partnership with Ashley, given what they've said about him and his regime.
-
Credit where it's due. Thanks to the Hall - Shepherd era, we have a large, top-class stadium. I'd also add, thanks to Ashley, there's no longer a large debt attached to it. I don't think there's any other club which can make both those claims. The foundations are there for a revival in time, however bleak things might seem now.

I can't find that quote attributed to NUST. It originated on True Faith who were reporting on the NUST. http://www.true-faith.co.uk/tf/features.nsf/ab283684d03f231d80256b520047d321/05f16bc3fb51dd0e80257669007c3eba?OpenDocument Nice one Bob. You people are hard work sometimes. It's on the NUST website. It's on the launch article from 9th November. Fifth paragraph down. It's always been a bit vague, but it seems that 'backers' have morphed into 'partners' and now into 'advisers'. Presumably 'mates' is the next step. Read the first email, it clearly says ADVISORS hence why i posted this to stop anyone talking bollocks, well done on managing to fail to understand it. Calm down, will you? This is what NUST said at the start of the campaign - ‘It is believed that this is the first stage of a 6 week campaign including advertisements, the opening of an advice shop in central Newcastle and the unveiling of high profile backers.’ This is what they said at the beginning of the year - ‘On that note, on 15 Jan we will be announcing our partners and how the YWC campaign will continue over the coming weeks, so if you haven't already then please sign up to find out more here.’

When did Ashley 'commit himself to putting the club back on the market?' Common sense would say that if he gets a decent offer, he's likely to accept. But as far as I know, he's not said he's going to put the club back up for sale, in the manner that he did at the beginning of this season. Apart from that, no news of any significance there.
-
Yes, and a broadly similar player.

Milner's fitness level is fantastic. He's involved all over the pitch.
