  1. I have thought that might be the case for some time. The striker pursuit has been half-hearted IMO. There doesn't seem to be any clear target we are pursuing.
  2. "Cheik Tiote - AP expects Tiote to be back sometime this week. AP also expected a new striker in before we went to the USA" Pards and his compulsive lying. tsk tsk.
  3. Good luck to the lad. Hope he proves a few here wrong
  4. Amongst all the gloom it's good to see Cabaye is providing some bright spots. From what the resident French expert on Talksport was saying I don't think people have quite realised what a good player we might have here.
  5. I honestly don't think match fitness or general fitness will be a big issue. He dropped into our team with ease last season. If he arrives back on the morning of the game I'd play him if he was up for it. Derek Wright's out there with him keeping him up to speed. Fitness shouldn't be an issue.
  6. 12,000 people turning up today is evidence, if ever it were needed, that NUFC as a fanbase will never be able to stand up collectively, say 'no more' and boycott games to get rid of this lot. Too many people simply don't have the willpower to avoid going to the game, and I include myself in that. and thank god for that. You might think it's worth us plummeting down the table on the off chance Ashley would sell up but I think I''ll take things as they are if that's your alternative. How did you get any of that from what he said? Organised boycotts would make Newcastle football club a pretty unhappy place IMO, not just for fans but players and staff as well. If Ashley's investing too little now, he wouldn't put anything at all in if customers stopped turning up. I just think things could go downhill very quickly. The club appears to be a black hole of misery at present, both on and off the pitch. If we don't sign some good first team players and also lose our first 2 games it'll be even worse than now and that'll be nothing to do with the fans not going to matches. So you think there should be organised boycotts? Never said there should be. You think we'd plummet down the table if there was and that's nonsense. The fans cannot be blamed for the situation we're in. You might think it's nonsense but I think a sour atmosphere would filter down and and have an effect at all levels. It would make the club an unappealing prospect for new players for just one example. I could give you plenty more but it's just my opinion so if you don't agree that's fine.

  8. 12,000 isn't a very good attendance, I would think quite a few have stayed away because of our shambolic summer. Less to do with the shambolic summer and more to do with the ridiculous £20 ticket prices. If that had been halved you would have got 3 times as many in.

  10. I think they'll care about paying Tiote's wages for 10 weeks while he sits with his feet up at home. Does he live in Ghana like? what difference does it make where he lives? He won't be playing football, that's the point.

  12. Arsenal's not a bad team to be up against first game tbh. They're as disorganised as us and with so many players leaving/arriving Wenger might lose the plot.

  14. Goddamit, I find myself fretting on behalf of poor Chris Hughton. :-[
  15. It stands to reason tbh. The only time Tiote can't get booked it's to get a plane home.
  16. I reckon Pards should call the lads in 20 mins early to introduce them to each other.
  17. I know, what a wanker. He'll be laughing all the way to the bank! Evil genuis that he is. He's got a weather machine don't you know, it cost £35m
  18. Well I'm not sure how any of those people could have predicted this farce.
  19. Been a disastrous pre-season. This is kind of a fitting end to it tbh.
  20. Even though he missed, once again Best showing he will find goal scoring positions.
  21. 10,000 according to the commentator. Scandalous pricing, probably knocked 20,000 off the gate.
  22. Fucking hell it's raining so hard I can hardly bear to listen to it on the radio.
