It's strange...in Shola we have a forward who's worst work is in the penalty box. On the other hand in Nolan we have a midfielder who's best work is in the penalty box rather than in midfield where he's supposed to play.

I know. But if he doesn't score he'll get slated so better the no-hopers like Shola and Loven fail (as they will) next week than Ranger IMO.

What I don't understand is why Colo was marking Jerome who was their big guy, and this in fact led to the goal. Surely Taylor should be marking the main target man and Colo playing as the sweeper? at certain times taylor had him, at others colo.........do you think there were set plans of "YOU" mark him ? When there's only one big striker you'd like to think the big defender would be on him.

I'd rather he didn't play against Chelsea where he's on a hiding to nothing. Let him have a chance starting against crap teams like WBA, which let's face it, the likes of Lovenkrands has built his reputation on.

He isn't really a midfielder. His best work is when the ball is dead and he can get himself into position when the ball pings around in the penalty area. In the midfield you won't ever see him carry the ball or press the ball because he's too slow. Charlie Adam's clumsy crippling of Bale today reminded me of everything bad about Nolan. Too slow. too shit.

People have slated him on here for all sorts of reasons like poor touch (bullshit) laziness (debatable) but the truth of the matter is he doesn't have a striker's hunger for goals. He's non-existent in the penalty area so he's not going to score goals.

He knows how we think anyway. Whether he will be in a position to provide it is another matter.

As with Liverpool the poor quality starting 11 we are left with can't hope to live with a quality team. We will be comfortably beaten by at least 3 goals.

Honestly. He didn't play well today. Not many did to be honest though, dont see a rush to fill the Jonas thread with similar 'utter crap' statements even though he was worse. If it wasn't for players like Jonas we'd never get the ball out of our half. Players like Nolan who can't carry the ball 5 yards are dependent on Jonas' legs whether he crosses well at the end of it or not.

When the sum total value of our strike force is about £2million it's hardly any surprise.
