Owen looked very disinterested for some reason, sort of wandered through the match without ever showing any sort of urgency. No leadership whatsoever, too. He never does though tbh, whereas he usually looks alive when the ball is in around the box. Today he seemed to phone it in a bit. Was nowhere near as bad as Viduka though, who seemed to really be applying himself to playing shite.

Seemed to hesitate and never even got the shot away. Credit to Scharner for a great challenge, but more often than not Owen at least gets the shot away in that situation. The problem with Owen and Viduka as a duo is that on their off-days they're both pretty much useless and offer you nothing. So when they both have a bad day, as they did today, then we're fucked.

Horrible half of football. Viduka has been pathetic, Owen hasn't been a whole lot better. Only way we'll get anything from those two as a partnership is by having two wingers who can get at full backs and cause problems. Which brings us to Damien Duff. What a waster, useless cunt has done nothing the entire half. Jonas has been pretty poor as well. Butt has been a disgrace, how someone who's played in the Premiership for so long can so constantly get caught in possession is beyond me. Guthrie has been pretty much playing on his own in there. N'Zogbia is getting done at LB, but then he's a winger isn't he? And ten times the winger Duff is as we saw last week, boils my piss to see him back there where he's not only handcuffed going forward, but a liability defensively. The good news is we're only 1 down. The bad news is we're absolutely fucking shite today and I struggle to see this getting better. Really missing Oba.

Pisses me off no end what went down the few days either side of the end of August. The system had a hell of a lot of merit. Would we need to spend more? Sure, but it's not like net spend is the be all end all of things. I wish I could look at it and blame Wise and Jimenez and say they fucked Keegan over. But it's not the case IMO. We had a system that would have worked and really taken us places. A scouting team that could identify players and get them at a good price, and a manager who could put out a team that could win games and play good football. But because 4 or 5 guys haven't got the maturity to work as a team, preferring instead to squabble over power, it all went down the shitter. Now we've Joe Kinnear in charge and a club for sale that nobody wants.

Good to see him getting forward a bit more today. Vastly more use to us in the final third than Butt.

Going well so far, we've looked the better side tbh. I'd bring on Duff for Martins though. Stick Duff at left-back, Bassong into center midfield, push Guthrie out on the right and play Jonas up front with Owen. Cunts won't know what hit them.

We show up and play as well as we have under him all season, and Stoke meanwhile aren't at the races at all? We get 2-0 up at HT, at which point he proceeds to make a change that moves 3 players into positions that they simply aren't suited to? Why change so much when things are going well? Including moving your best player in the first half into CM, where he can't play at all and never has done. Either stick Cacapa in CM or move Colo there and slot Taylor in at CB. It's not that complicated, anybody with half a brain could see how ridiculous it was.

I actually agree, that's probably all we can hope for with Kinnear in charge. Clever. It's quite true though. Not one game under Kinnear have we looked good going forward, actually playing good football and creating chances rather than just hoping for the best and trying to keep it tight at the back. Until today of course, and we all know Joe put a stop to that as soon as it could be addressed at half time.

Relegation prospects will be determined by whether the likes of Owen, Martins, Jonas, Barton and Viduka can stay fit. With players like that to pick from, I don't think even someone as incompetent as Kinnear could quite fuck it up. We'll be shite all year, but we'll just do enough to get through it and stay up. But lose more than 1 or 2 of that lot and all bets are off, and we really could be going down. The man is useless, truly useless, and has no business in any level of professional football management, nevermind managing an established Premier League club. I'd give an awful lot for us to be taken over by someone, anyone, and a real boss brought in. Fuck all those cunts for what happened on the first few days of September. Power hungry cunts who've ruined the great direction we were going in.
