I've been to the Union Rooms many, many, many times. It's alright... Never been anywhere else I don't think.
-
I'm actually shocked. I mean it was so obvious it should be rescinded, but I never for one minute believed it actually would be. Good stuff.

Made of biscuits.
-
I hated him last night, but tbh he's a delightful little player imo Again, he's a cunt.
-
I fucking hate Stephen Ireland with a passion. The cunt.

So we can be much more fucked than we currently are? Unless we get a big pile of money and buy in 4 or 5 top class players then there's very little point having Owen at the club. I'd have him if I were one of the !~BIG 4~!, useful impact sub to have if you really need a goal. No doubt about that. But for us he has to start and without the quality service he needs he's pretty much a hindrance to have on the field. Let him off and get in someone else who'll contribute more to our all-round game. The fact that he's made of biscuits doesn't help, either.
-
Looking forward to the day he fucks off at this point tbh.

Did I actually just read that? Well you seem to have replied to it. So probably, yeah.
-
He's made of biscuits tbh. No surprise really, still disappointing though. Martins is more important to us though so him being back in contention would make up for losing Owen. Duff actually looked good for Ireland last night. A lot more nippy than he's looked for a long, long time. (OT I know, but I can't be arsed finding a more relevant thread)
-
Maybe pansy was the wrong word, because he's certainly well built physically. I just don't think he ever looks arsed really, suppose that's what I'm getting at.

I'd not call him the Luque, but there's something about Enrique that just seems a bit shit. He's an intelligent full-back, reads the game well and generally stops his man in one on one situations. He's fairly neat and tidy in possession too for the most part, and his distribution while often a mixed bag can be quite good on occasion. But everything about him seems to be sort of in slow motion. Doesn't seem to play with any intensity whatsoever. Yakubu's chance early on yesterday he seemed to just stand there waiting for the ball to come to him when he should have been going at it full pelt to stop him getting the shot away. It's frustrating, because there's the makings of a good player there. Think he might just be a bit of a pansy, unfortunately.

That thing he tried on the right wing from the long ball forward was very close to coming off, and if it had it'd have been one of the best pieces of skil I've seen in a game in a long time. Actually creased myself laughing that it nearly actually came off for him.

Problem with partnering Cacapa and Colo is that they're going to struggle to match up physically with our opponents. It's unfortunate Faye left, ideally we'd have he and Taylor fighting for one spot with Cacapa being Colo's back-up. But he's gone so I still expect Taylor to partner Collocini once Beye is back. Bassong might be an option at CB ahead of Taylor some day, but for now I reckon he might be seeing a lot of time at LB until Enrique is better able to play than he currently appears to be.

How about we don't play by far our best center-half at right-back? It'll be a regular 4-4-2 anyway, much as I'd love us to move Owen back into the hole and stick Xisco and Duff up top it's not going to happen.

I see Arsenal as the most likeable of "The Big Incredible 4" so I generally root for them to do well. Better than Man U or Chelsea winning the league. Can't say I know any Mackems either, but it's sort of your duty to hate them if you're a Newcastle fan surely. Plus, Roy Keane is a wanker.
-
Nuts to you Dave, nuts to you. The worst thing is that it's completely hammered my general level of interest in football. I've checked our results and that's about it since the whole thing happened. I found out on Tuesday morning that Man U and Chelsea had drawn 1-1, normally a game I'd have gone out of my way to watch live. And I spent all day Sunday watching TV, just not arsed about football outside NUFC at the minute.

This is the worst, simply because of how fast I've gone from really upbeat and positive about our future to what I feel now. Less than a month ago I was buzzing about things. We had a good manager who was looking to play good, positive football, a manager that we as fans could really identify with and believe in. A chairman who was trying to take the club in the right direction in what I believe was a very positive manner. And a scouting system that was finding good players like Jonas to come in and improve the team. Then, in the space of about a week we were managerless and our owner was being hounded out by our own fans. And why? All because a few men couldn't find the maturity to try and work together, preferring to go behind each others backs and squabble in an attempt to get as much power for themselves as possible, rather than trying to work as a team. And then a chairman who didn't have the decency to come back and try and actually sort out these petty cunts until it was much too late. Keegan, Wise, Jimenez, Ashley, Llambias and every single person in power at the club have all fucked us over here, can't wait until the club is sold and out of the hands of the current lot. I also hope we don't bring back Keegan, not been one bit impressed by him throughout this whole ordeal.

Never has anything been more doomed to certain failure than a Nigerian consortium taking over Newcastle United would most certainly be.

Agree regarding Martins. There is something about him that makes us look twice as dangerous when we're on the ball when he's playing as opposed to when he's not. Still though, it's hard to ignore Owen's goals, he's a constant threat and you can count on him to get the goals. I just can't wait til we finally get to see them play together again. It's Martins pace that worries teams. They can't push up and play a high line when he's on the pitch for fear of being caught in behind, which they can with Owen. This gives our entire team more space to play in when in possession. He also unsettles opponents I think, he's so unpredictable that its hard to know what to do with him. Agree about seeing them together, but I don't see a regular 4-4-2 working which is why I'm really hoping we stick with the 4-3-1-2 we had last year. With a focal point for them to play off like Viduka, they're great to have on the pitch at the same time.
-
I actually think Drogba has been more important to Chelsea than Lampard btw. That's not a slight on Lampard, I just think Drogba is that good. Phenomenal player who has been the focal point of everything they've done for years now. For us it's probably Martins, strangely enough. A very frustarting player at times no doubt, but we tend to look absolutely fucking useless every time he doesn't play.
-
I said Ronaldo. Without him United win nothing last year IMO. He's that little bit of goalscoring quality to cap off a team that is so solid back to front, but without him they lose that scariness. Gerrard is massive for Liverpool also, obviously, but they're still perennial 4th place finishers with or without him as far as I can see.
-
Just watch, we'll force Ashley out and this guy will have a change of heart and sign for Spurs instead before going on to be the best English player of all-time, turning Spurs into an absolute footballing powerhouse.

Pricing us out of being bought, then he can say he tried to sell us but nobody would buy. Then he tries to win us over again once the hysteria has died down and the protesters are appeased knowing he's apparently looking to sell.
