That makes him a very meh signing imo, now if hes bought to play alongside Van Persie( either on the left, right or behind him) or in his place when he needs a rest or injured. Then its a fantastic signing. Would still be a decent signing like. Of course, there's a certain risk to Podolski - from what I gather, he's a player who's been pretty much indifferent at club level these past few years (compared to his international exploits anyway) so he probably will need time to settle. If this is the case then he probably won't be Van Persie's replacement as such in the short term (if RVP does go that is) but can see being a capable replacement in the medium/long term.

FWIW, I reckon Podolski will be a good signing for Arsenal. Can see him ultimately being Van Persie's replacement.

Content with this. We do need some depth in our squad and Raylor can cover a variety of positions. I've put cover in italics because that should be his role within this squad, a player who is primarily backup. He has been decent this season and has certainly improved so he really does deserve this extension. Decent squad player, no more and no less. Mind you, if he's a regular in the starting XI come next season then some questions do need to be asked.
