  1. I think it's the fact the team is managed by Rafa, as much as anything. Player for player, they're not anything special. Sure they're losing just now, but I'm pretty sure they'll be second or third come the end of the season.
  2. Stay, so we can see where geordies have fucked off to all over the world as well as overseas fans. Glasgow then.
  3. Darlington, North East. EDIT: Oh, no, is it stay or from?
  4. I guessed you were wanting this in the NUFC section...

    Bump for tonight's match.
  6. Just noticed this, cheers AF. Remember that PM I sent you...?
  7. At the moment, I'd have to say he has to get the whole season. This clearly depends on results though, and if we find ourselves sitting perilously close to the bottom, then we'd need to consider the chop. It still depends on other factors though, I'd personally take into account how the team was playing. And if I believed there was any chance he could turn it round, something I never believed with Souness. As people have said though, he has a clear history, and it's not a good one. He was given the job on the basis of saving us from the disaster that was Souness, and my main fear from the moment it became clear he was getting the job was that a whole season could be a completely different ball game. I'm still quietly confident though we can do resonably well. I don't think we're going to get in the top six, maybe even if we should, I can see us finishing just outside Europe, perhaps 8th, when you take into account a possible UEFA cup run, if not even two domestic cup runs. It'll be interesting to see how Roeder handles this, again something he has no experience of, in Europe's case.

Have Germany sorted out a manager for the national side yet?
  9. Note: I'm not saying he came here for the money, I'm just interested in what he's getting and got in a signing on fee.
  10. where do you get the info regrads the signing on fee? and how do you know what wages he's getting? His imagination. It would be nice to know though, I have to say. People can scoff at the figures being quoted, as no-one would appear to know, but let's not pretend he's on peanuts and that a signing on fee wouldn't have been generous. Although the opposite is quite possible, it's highly doubtful. That's the problem with buying Chelsea's cast offs, they're used to high wages. By the way, I am in no way agreeing with the figures quoted by terry. I can't be arsed with the 'reportedly' nonsense.

The Indi' agrees with you HTL... http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/comment/article1169764.ece Bit harsh to signal out him, but I agree with most it says about the rest. Especially the last bit...

Aye, but people were implying his footballing knowledge. I know he waffles, but his opinions on players and teams have always seemed fair and pretty spot on.

What exactly is it he's said that's so obviously wrong? He talked crap at times, like waffling on about his appearances in the European Cup final, but what exactly are you meaning?

That's what I was thinking. Plenty of good managers make shite pundits. We get a shitload of them.

What a load of toss. Jesus Christ. Such an inconsiderate soul for wanting to play for his country. We knew when we signed him, he was coming for the World Cup and a steady amount of games. It's our fault, as much as anyone's. He's not the only striker in the world, but we choose to spend £16m on him. We forced the deal through on these promises. Time to realise this.

  17. I think it's more likely than him ending up here, to be honest.
