  1. He's been good defensively, just needs to stop passing it forwards unless its simple because he gives it away practically every time.
  2. Crouch has been abysmal, and Defoe his typical self in terms of hitting the ball towards goal with no aim or accuracy. Martins has been a class act by comparison.
  3. Gutierrez with a shot. First time he's shot from outside the box I think.
  4. Time to start praying that Kinnear doesn't fuck this all up in the second half with his substitutions.
  5. We really need Barton back in this team. We're constantly giving it away when trying to pass it forwards from central midfield - most of that down to Butt of course.
  6. Quality cross from Zog there. Even if he's playing shit he still has far, far more quality than Duff.
  7. It's a common reaction by players to exaggerate a foul just to bring it to the ref's attention. Bassong's arm was stuck out preventing Defoe from getting past him. Defoe had turned him on the ball and was trying to run in the direction of the ball. It wasn't Bassong's body the blocked him, but the right arm holding on to him and dragging him back. Clear foul for me.
  8. Has looked from day one like he's going to turn into a good footballer. Bit of a typical Keegan central midfielder imo. Need's to be out of the first team for a season or two though, not quite consistent enough just yet but that will come as he becomes more experienced.
  9. Wonder how long it will be before a big club makes a move for Kranjcar.
  10. Absolutely no fucking excuse for Butt not controlling the ball there. It's basic for all Premiership players nowadays.
  11. Holy shit what a shot by Martins from 30 yards, off the post!
  12. Fuck sake, why does Zog seem unable to do some of the basics at times? A simple first time pass from a rolling ball to someone 4 yards away from him, ends up going over his teamate's head.
  13. Quality cross from Martins, nice attempt to pass it into the net from Owen but ended up pretty wide. Good linkup play though, encouraging.
  14. This is like Douglas Hall giving an interview on club matters from his luxury yatch. The guy needs a slap, or some coffee stuck under his sleeping nose so he can wake up and smell it, or a fan with a large pile of s*** thrown at it (and a team of scientists to explain what will happen when impact is made). If he can't sell the club, then he should hire a bodyguard or two and go do what Sir Bobby suggested - put a suit on, act like the owner of a Premiership football club, and go sit in the Director's Box to oversee how his investment is performing, what emergency measures might be needed in case the investment is going down the pan, and also whether his trusted lieutenants are doing their jobs properly as per their handsomely paid salaries.
  15. He'd be a mammoth signing because he'd most likely improve one of the weakest areas in the team and could prevent Butt from starting every game - which ultimately could keep us in the Premiership. Decent passer of the ball, good free kick taker, proven in the Premiership, right age/experience level to come in and do an immediate job - sort of signing that could turn us into a decent side even though the player himself might not be top draw. Must be a good chance of that move happening too because 1) we'll be offering more wages than tiny Fulham can afford, 2) this might be his only chance to move to a club with the potential/facilities/resources to be in Europe in the next few years by which time his career will be over, 3) he'll be playing with better players than he's surrounded by at Fulham, and 4) if we do get relegated even with him in the side then chances are he'd easily get a move back to a lower mid table Premiership side. Fulham would defend him tooth and nail though. I imagine we'd have to pay them 8m or some other large amount that he's not worth to even have a sniff. Any player we bid for in January will most likely be at an inflated price if they're in the first team elsewhere. Bullard being in the England squad will also automatically add a few million onto his value. The only real saving grace is that at his age, Fulham might be tempted to cash in on a reasonable offer. Maybe we could offer Alan Smith in the other direction?
  16. He'd be a mammoth signing at this point in time with the Barton injury rumours, because he'd most likely improve one of the weakest areas in the team and could prevent Butt from starting every game - which ultimately could keep us in the Premiership. Decent passer of the ball, good free kick taker, proven in the Premiership, right age/experience level to come in and do an immediate job - sort of signing that could turn us into a decent side even though the player himself might not be top draw. Must be a good chance of that move happening too because 1) we'll be offering more wages than tiny Fulham can afford, 2) this might be his only chance to move to a club with the potential/facilities/resources to be in Europe in the next few years should the current mess we're in be sorted out, and at his age he may not have too many chances for such a move (hence why the risk is one he'd surely be willing to take), 3) he'll be playing with better players than he's surrounded by at Fulham, and 4) if we do get relegated even with him in the side then chances are he'd easily get a move back to a lower mid table Premiership side.
  17. Nice little lob from Messi. 2-0.
