  1. TBQFH he looks good against lower level teams, but looks completely lost in the Premiership. Not up to the pace and aggression of it at all.
  2. Pienaar + Baines down the left is a fucking lethal combo. Like a poor man's Zidane + Roberto Carlos.
  3. Speed + Duncan Ferguson + iirc stealing in on their bids for Emre/Parker. Bit to us and Liverpool with Carroll/Enrique (and Dalglish eyeing up our other players too).
  4. Exactly. Giving players less money would just equate to the Chairmen and shareholders pocketing the "savings". I still think the music and film industry are worse when it comes to undeserving people getting ridiculously rich quickly. There should be a wage cap on X-Factor winners for example, as they're simply glorified karaoke singers who'll go on (if they win) to sing songs written by others with the actual talent (and probably better singing ability). Or to look at it another way: Justin Bieber is worth more than Lionel Messi. As for movies, Shia Lebouf is worth $30m. His career will probably last until he dies as he's a Disney kid who is being managed well and already has his legion of fans, so he could easily earn $300m over his entire acting career - probably double what Messi will get. Kristen Stewart, the Twilight girl with one facial expression, is already worth $60m. Emma Watson $70m, Daniel Ratcliffe $100m, even though neither of them can act for toffee. But yes, lets pick on footballers because "all they do is kick a ball around".
  5. I'd agree with you, but the upside is that we have Ben Arfa, so there's some hope at least. Plus all we need is one of Cisse or Ba to turn up with their shooting boots on (along with remembering how to control and distribute a football again) and we'd have all the ammo we'd need to paper over the cracks (which atm encompass horrible movement from the team, too many players off form and looking unfit, p*ss poor defending, a keeper who plays in slow motion, woeful service from the flanks, set piece routines and executions that can induce depression, strikers who are playing like Bambi on ice, etc etc).
  6. Saylor has been backing off more than Simpson this season. Maybe he needs some time to get back to where he was at last season, but regardless, it feels like he has gone back to the Saylor of a few years ago.
  7. He needs to be getting forward and looking to have shots on goal, rather than attempting to emulate Pirlo from deep.
  8. Cabaye needs to calm down when it comes to constantly trying to find Ba/Cisse from deep in midfield. They're both hopeless at dealing with those types of balls.
  9. Pardew really needs to look into why we always start so slow. Takes on average 30 minutes before we start actually looking like a decent team. Poor starting tactics?
  10. shrewd/SHro͞od/ Adjective: Having or showing sharp powers of judgment; astute. (esp. of weather) Piercingly cold: "a shrewd east wind".
  11. It's worth watching atm though, Carmen Electra is co-presenting in a revealing red dress.
  12. People have been saying all summer long that we need to play 4-3-3. It's pretty obvious why, and has nothing to do with the defeat to Chelsea. FWIW I think we'd still have lost to them no matter the formation.
  13. Last season's victory doesn't even really count imo. All of the Chelsea players had only one thing on their minds when we played them, i.e. the CL final a few weeks later.
