I think this is a good sign from the board. We shouldn't be held to ransom by anyone. If Barton wants to play for us "for the rest of his career" as quoted, then he will sign. Willie McKay is basically just stirring here. If he's a money man, we should think about bringing in Charlie Adam --> Good replacement IMO.

I agree, jonas, nolan, shola in particular get way to much stick but lovenkrands is awful and shouldn't be starting again for us.

Andy's miffed me off massively though, he hasn't at all considered this mess he's left us in - if this had gone through on January the 1st then we could have built a better team. Now we're going to end up panic buying...anyone selling to us will instantly slap on an extra £5million.

I don't agree that we have to 'welcome Mr Pardew'... However, as supporters of this club we need to think of our future - if we are to go down again this season, we are going to struggle to make it back. Avoiding relegation is still easily achievable and we need to make sure we get behind the players to help them do this, its not their fault this prat is making the wrong decisions. Along with Chris they've worked hard to get us where we are now and they have proved that they can keep us up! Forget Ashley Forget Lambias Forget Pardew and let's get a result on saturday... This decision is tough to take. Hughton, thanks for what you've done. Pardew won't be appointed...Ashley is a business man, and a successful one too - if he makes this decision, attendances are going to plummet, and he knows this... Although he's an stupid, he isn't that stupid. He may be shocking at PR, but all he is going to be thinking about is making £££ - and Pardew is not going to make this football team (business) profitable. IMO he must have someone else lined up, that they have agreed a deal with.

Seen Joey Barton last night in the Dry Dock (a student bar) in Leicester! Was with a few friends; didn't go speak to him as he looked as though he was getting annoyed at people coming up to him. Looked as though he had put on a bit of weight if i'm honest... When he left I asked the barman what he was drinking as my mate was adamant it was cider; he ordered a red bull and two J2o's

Joe Mattock has looked really good for leicester all season, despite them going down..been to a lot of their games and he has been leicester's best player on several occasions...could see him turning out to be a great player, sign him up! Also, we've got good old Nigel Pearson to sway the lad to tyneside!
