  1. buy out clause or not, he wont go imo.

it will ruin his reputation letting us pay him for 2 years while he lay ther einjured.

we'll get next season out of him, and then unless we make great leaps, he'll be off next summer

  2. "At this stage I have not even discussed with Michael as to whether he will be back for us on Sunday.

"He is 50-50, but he will not return until, in my opinion, he is in pristine condition.

"And he has had a slight groin strain which he picked up in shooting practice at the end of last week.

"His groin is a bit sore, but this is what happens when players have been out for a long time in as much as they pick up niggles in other parts of their body.

  3. Is there any credability to this story??

hard to tell. The guy who wrote it - Chris Bascombe, is pretty close to Liverpool, although not as close as he used to be I don't think. He actually hates Houllier with a passion (cos Houllier wouldn't put up with him at the end of his time here), so I'm amazed he's managed to write something about him without turning it into a slag fest.

Bascombe gets a little more right than your average journo, but he's also as full of s*** as most of them ;) Also, I really wouldn't have a clue how he'd know what Houllier's intentions are, being as I kinda doubt they speak to each other

surely he will still have contacts who know houillier though?

maybe he is still mates with cock nose thompson or someone?

    who knows.

    here's hoping though

  4. Wouldn't work.

    what makes you think that?

He's a manager - he'd want to manage at the first sign of things going wrong. Plus there's the Evans thing at Liverpool.

exactly, worked a treat imo, evans f***** off!

  5. would be a great move

    Explain?

i think he is a very good manager and has done well at lyon (in champs league etc) even though he has had to sell some of his best players, he also won a few things over here not so long ago.

a good gaffer and a vast improvement

  6. Agreed. I think most managers with ambition and belief in their ability would snatch this job. The prize for succeeding is massive and they all know it.

Couldn't agree more, Shepherd did unbelievably well to get Souness then Roeder from all the ambitious and confident managers from the list who were willing to snatch the job

again macbeth, i think this was due to timing.

im pretty sure if we had sacked bobby when we should have, i.e end of season when liverpool did houillier in, we would never have ended up with souness.
