Who was the fella who took it on short term in an advisory role in that first January?
we may see him back whilst we get a replacement.
I have no clue who we’ll get, but I back them to get it right.
Scratch this, he’s at Leeds now.

Edwards reckons we’re taking a hostile stance.
good.
-
We’ve placed him on gardening leave today.

So if he's on gardening leave can we still bring in a replacement?
Yeah, Weir started at Brighton straight away I’m sure (internal appointment but the principal is the same).
-
Asked to leave today according to Hope.

Kelly was good a lot of the time. But there was plenty of space in behind him. Luckily for him, it was mainly Almiron wasting the opportunity. Be decent on a free.
Solanke was a handful. He missed two great chances, mind and got gifted the first. He’d cost far too much money in comparison to how good he actually is.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a Centre forward trouble botman as much as solanke did today. Probably right on the fee though.
-
I thought solanke and Kelly looked good for Bournemouth today. I’d take both.
-
If Dan Ashworth is as good as we're told, we won't miss Dan Ashworth as everything should be implemented and working, along with a succession plan.
The end.

There were rumours of tensions between the two - or did I make that up?
No, thats been suggested in some things i've read for sure.

Quick scan of a Brighton forum and they seem to think he’s brilliant at the set up phase and then he moves on because that’s the part he enjoys.
A few think he’s over rated but guess that’s normal after he left them (we’ll be the same).

I was going to say this. He's apparently mates with our new part owners. He's still going to be involved and you won't get compensation.
I'd take the money now. Better for everyone involved.
yeah, like this isn't the threat every time this situation happens.

Bad craic this like joins us for the project and to make us a force in the future only to fuck off within a few short years for a club that is a shambles with regards to owners stadium falling to bits players who arent top four standard. If it was to go to city arsenal Liverpool fair enough he must be a money man.
Man Utd will be back amongst title chases quickly imo, quicker than us anyway.
He’s not leaving us for Crystal Palace, he’s going to the biggest club in the country and one of the biggest in the world.
As I say, don’t worry about it. We’ll get someone else, it’s nowt personal, they’re just bigger.
-
Also, on Ashworth generally. Maybe he is the ‘best in class’ but so far he was at West Brom who won nowt, England who won nowt, Brighton who won nowt and NUFC, who won nowt!
We’ll be fine.
-
Man Utd are a bigger club than us, it’s a bigger job and a bigger opportunity. That’s a mixture of ffp holding us back and also the fact they’re just bigger and under new (part) ownership are a better bet for the big trophies in the near future.
Don’t take it personally, it’s just how it is and probably always will be.
Doesn’t mean we’re not going in the right direction as a club, we are! -
Bored of it already.
stay or go, either is fine, but stop the rumours either way asap is my take.
if he goes we’ll just get someone else, couldn’t give a shit tbh. Brighton haven’t died, neither will we.

Don't get me started on Palmer.....
Ok i've started.
Instead of Barnes. We have Barnes & Gordon who prefer to play on the left. Both top 8 quality at worst with Joelinton also an excellent option. Isak too if needed. Then we have Almiron & Murphy for the right. Both well short of the level.
With Gordon & Joe for the left wish Willoc/Isak as back-up and Palmer, Miggy on the right with Murphy as back-up, it's a much better balance.
Likewise, Palmer is a passer and a creator, brilliant in tight spaces. We don't have anyone like that in our attack. He's exactly what we needed. Barnes is not similar to Gordon. Our best team has 1 of our best 2 wingers playing out of position and I'm not even sure that's what Howe considers our best team. 1 might need to sit on the bench.
Truthfully, I don't think Howe wants that style of player. The wingers we get linked too are runners. Howe seems to prefer having the same profile as depth rather than something different.
I suspect we didn’t sign palmer because he’s so one footed.
Time will tell what we do with Barnes and how that pans out but him and Gordon can use both feet, palmer isnt and we didn’t need another Miggy situation.

Almost 40m euros combined for Elanga & Henderson. They probably could've got £25-30m for McTom. 10m a piece for Garner & Pereira.
And best of all.. a full 30m euros for Dan James.
is £30m for Elanga and Henderson a premium? is £20m for Garner & Pereira?
Dan James i'll give you, but he's an outlier in recent years. They're certainly not 'premium sellers' recently.
Premium buyers, definitley.

What Man Utd players have sold for a premium?
Maybe Dan James in the last few years.
other than that, I cannot think of one.

The point is Man U players (when they are not on astronomical wages) tend to sell for a premium. Our players do not. So saying they wanted £50m for Scott Mc doesn't mean anything because (1) nobody paid it anyway and (2) Man U can genuinely command higher fees than we can.
elanga went for £15m didn't he? Garner around £10m, pereira around £10m, Henderson £15m ish.
No premiums there imo.

Not very quick either. Probably on par with bruno
Did a bit of bullying of his own for the fourth goal as well.
Dan Ashworth (on gardening leave)

This is a no lose for all involved.
If Ashworth is as good as we're told, the systems and processes will be in place so we'll transition seamlessly, and we'll get a bag of cash.
If we isn't as good as we're told, we're well rid, and we'll get a bag of cash.
Man Utd can bring in someone to sort out their mess for about 20% of what they paid for the car crash that is Antony, it's nothing to them.
If it doesn't work (I think it will), they'll move on and they won't think of the fee they paid for Ashworth ever again.
Ashworth has the opportunity to turn around the biggest club un the country ( if not the world), what an opportunity.
If he does, he's made for life reputation wise, if he doesn't, it'll be the Glazers fault.
It's a business, it happens, on we go.
