I would like to see him getting games against the lesser teams because of his forward running and ability to take us from defence to attack, he has a lot to learn in defence.

We don't know the team, you don't know who the 2nd change is, it could be Haidara, Mbiwa or Dummett coming in, which one are you referring to? We have midfielders who can play in that position without having to put a defender in.

If we need to make one change to bring in a midfielder he's turned that one change into two as he'll now have to bring in a defender. Pre-season isn't only about playing a few games, it's about working on things for many weeks in training.

Well he's played most of his games in defence so by that alone he's a defender and it's a position he's used to. I would rather see players in positions which come naturally to them instead of throwing them into a position where they have to concentrate 100% on everything they do.
