Sounds scary until you realise there's never been much of a correlation between the number of points we have after 6 games and where we finish in the league:
95/96 - 15 points - 2nd
96/97 - 12 points - 2nd
97/98 - 12 points - 13th
98/99 - 8 points - 13th
99/00 - 1 point - 11th - Change of manager
00/01 - 10 points - 11th
01/02 - 11 points - 4th
02/03 - 7 points - 3rd - Sir Bobby
03/04 - 3 points - 5th - Sir Bobby
04/05 - 8 points - 14th
05/06 - 5 points - 7th - Change of manager
06/07 - 7 points - 13th
07/08 - 11 points - 12th
08/09 - 4 points - 18th - Relegated
10/11 - 7 points - 12th - Change of manager
11/12 - 12 points - 5th
12/13 - 9 points - 16th
Am I right in thinking that your point is that when we have so few points at this stage we either need to change a manager, have Sir Bobby or get relegated?
If Pardew has anything about him he'll start with the 11 who started against Everton with Tiote dropping out for Cabaye. Put the other players where they should have been and tell our defenders to defend rather than having 2 central defenders so exposed while the other 2 go missing from the defence.
Our last 48 league games:
Win percentage - 29.17%
Draw percentage - 18.75%
Loss percentage - 52.08%
Points per game - 1.06
Goals for per game - 1.15
Goals against per game - 1.83
He'll not turn it around, nothing in his career suggests that he can turn anything around. He's a shit manager and you thinking he's going to do something he's never done before isn't going to change anything.
I'll stick up for you and Ian, I don't think you're WUM's, I think you both genuinely think you're right about Pardew. Sorry, I've called you thick, haven't I?
I can't see Ben Arfa getting dropped for Jonas if that's what people are worried about. I think Jonas (has he ever been dropped by Pardew?) will more than likely see us go 4-4-2 with Jonas wide left and Ben Arfa wide right.
I can't see anything lucky in winning 4-1. Also the fans at Chelsea and WBA wanted to keep him and that doesn't point to him being too bad. I know fans can be wrong but I don't think he's shown that he's poor at either club.
I don't know that they are better but at least I would be able to have a bit of hope, I know Pardew is a poor manager. I don't know that the other two are as bad as he is and it would be worth the gamble.
My first choice would be to get enough points to get through to the summer and sack him then and replace him with somebody better but that's not going to happen. Sacking him is more likely to be reactionary rather than something planned for the good of the club.
