I have no doubt some people will go for these loans because they want a new phone or something along those lines and they deserve all they get in interest charges. I have a massive problem with people who are trying to live off state benefits and are struggling to pay for essentials that most of can and will take for granted. I just hope that none of us are in a position to have to find out what that’s like because I can’t get my head around how bad it must be.

Does these people being “inherently stupid” make taking the p*ss out of them right? They go with Wonga and the like because nobody else will give them a loan, they don't do it out of choice most of the time, it's out of necessity and that's a big difference. in which part of that was i taking the p*ss out of them? i work in these type of peoples houses alot. some of them are very nice people and some are not. got money for 40 inch plasma tvs and fags though. nobody has starved in this country for 200 years, why do they need loans from wonga? I wasn't on about you taking the piss out of anybody, I was on about wonga charging 1% interest per day and by doing so taking the piss out of people who aren't in a position to go elsewhere. Nice stereotype, I bet they are all on the dole and have dozens of kids and spend all day in the pub.

To be honest, some people wouldn't give a shit as long as it doesn't affect them in a negative way. It's even better if they're going to get something out of it.

Aye, things like gas, electricity, food etc. We're talking about people who have nothing, not people who are looking for a night at the theatre.

And? People chose to do a lot of things for different reasons, it doesn't make it right and let's be honest nobody would make that choice unless they had to.

Wonga are a shit company and they're only sponsoring us because of the high level of unemployment up here. I'm over the moon that the ground is reverting to it's proper name but I can't seperate that from the company that we'll be helping to shit on even more people.
-
I'm sure knowing that made them feel so much better while they had nothing to live off until our speedy legal system came to the rescue.
-
It's not even legal loaning to people who are classed as vulnerable yet they do it. The person taking the loan acted daft, the company acted illegally.

That's easy to say when you only have your own mouth to feed. I've always been on good money, had plenty of disposable income and haven't lost a job but I could imagine others not being so lucky. I would hate to think what it must have been like for people who were less fortunate and unable to save anything because they weren’t well paid and had kids to bring up.

Another one: Hi, I had a loan from wonga and got in the same situation as many, paid back then had to re borrow as it kept on leaving me short. Had a problem this month and did not have enough in bank to repay them. I only realised it yesterday so never had time to contact them. I am dissabled so my benefits are paid straight in to my bank account. Got a shock today, went ot check my bank account to find it EMPTY and in the red. Wonga had got there first thing and taken all of my money, even gone up to my overdraft limit. I also had email from them telling me that they are going to try to take the remaining £95 plus interest plus fee's on 1st Feb. They have left me with NO money for the next month!!! What do I do, I am pulling my hair out with worry. I can not get any more money until the end of next month. Are they going to just go and take it all from me again then. HELP!!!!

They don't have to use the company, it looks like it's the easy option for some people who jump without fully understanding what they are getting into. They are giving out loans to people who can't always pay them back and when people can't afford to pay them back they threaten them with debt collection agancies but don't refer them to anybody until they've reached a legal limit of £1000. So they hang on to small debt and keep throwing interest at the loans so they go from tens of £'s to a £thousand and it's all legal.

It seems like the majority of people using Wonga are people who have lost jobs and are finding it hard to adjust to a different lifestyle. Some people have lost jobs, others have come down with an illness and aren’t getting paid and still have bills to pay. I would hate to think what I would do if I lost my job and had to go from earning good money to living off the state. How do you keep a car going on the dole? I would find it hard to get a job if I had to rely on public transport. Can you cancel mobile phone contracts and things like sky subscriptions if you lose your job and have a contract? I don't know the answer but I bet it's easier getting a loan off a shitty legal loan shark than getting out of a contract that was taken out with the expectation that you could easily meet your obligations only to find things have gone tits up. I know nothing of Wonga before they were linked to us other than cringe worthy adverts. I've spent some time (not much) looking at what they do and it's disgusting that they're allowed to operate the way they do.

From one former customer: Having paid my loan in full I later discovered that wonga had removed the payment again this left me stranded 400 miles away from home unable to access my money basically theft . After sending 4 emails to which I didn't get a reply and over an hour on a premium rate number I was told its a computer error. I was promised call backs which I didn't get. It has been sorted today 6 days later but only after I said I was going to call the BBC news. Stay clear of wonga And another: on the 29/08/12 i repaid my loan in full only to find they empitied my bank account by taking further funds they were not entitled to after eventually getting through they state its down to the fiance department and have no idea how this as happened and are saying they ringing all its happened to which is quite a few i have incurred bank charges have unpaid direct debits and wonga are doing very little to sort it out only fobbing people off i will be reporting them to the fsa my advice is to... And another: Paid my loan in full then wonga still took another 500 from my account. they say its not showing on the system so i hsve to wsit up to 7 working days for it to be reversed. have been left stranded with no money and a frozen bank account. on sick leave with a 3 year old and my medication had run out but cant buy my next presvription. thanks wonga I'll not post any more.

I've never used them but I can only guess that this type of company is the only one certain people will ever get a loan from and not everybody is fortunate enough to be in a position to get loans from elsewhere. The unemployment rate is 2.59 million give or take a few and I would guess that state benefits are fairly shit when trying to pay bills.

We're always one story away from a PR disaster.
-
Sometimes it's not 1 thing but a build up of things which have gone on before.
-
We probably can't and that's why we're being talked about as getting into a partnership with about as bad a company as you can find.
-
Ashley really has turned NUFC into a toxic brand.
-
From Ryder: Vuckic was heard screaming as he went down injured following an injury that is likely to rule him out for months after a heavy challenge.
-
He was at Cardiff.
-
Some of our players aren't good enough for where we are trying to go but it seems that every player in every thread is shite and in reality, they're not. Vuckic is a good technical player, both he and the club needs to find his best position and how to get the best out of the talent he's clearly got.
-
His reaction was childish, nothing more.
-
Rubbish, you've based that on what?
