It's good to hear he hasn't had a heart attack, I feared the worst. Get well Daveeeeeeed.

I was told today that he hated McClaren and was taking photographs of him(McClaren) leaving after he'd been sacked and sending them to the other players.

His Dad was on the radio on Monday and basically said that he's loving it here and staying.

I think he's ours to lose. I'm sure Sunday has sealed it and it would take a massive offer from another club to change his mind. I have little doubt that we've given him everything he's asked for and he'll know that the vast majority of us want him here and will support everything that he does. It would seem that our job is perfect for him in almost every way. I really doubt he's even talking to other clubs. that doesn't stop another club coming in for him.

Look at this as a small amount of payback, even if it's long overdue.

Let yourself go man, you're missing out.

It's going to be brilliant supporting the club again, just watching us and wanting to win has felt good. I'm even warming to McClaren slightly now because if we'd appointed a manager who could have kept us where the mackems finished, we wouldn't have Rafa and we would still be plodding on. If Rafa does stay, and I think he will, anything is possible. For the first time in over a decade we can start to think about better times ahead and I think we're just daft enough to do something special. The ground will be rocking again on match days and that is something else I'm looking forward to.

You can't get a season ticket yet so you'll waste your time.
-
No, I missed most of that season, I was still recovering from my war wound picked up in 1939. Oh so not the dead leg Napoleon gave you then? That didn't happen.
-
He can't change what he's done or allowed to be done but appointing one of the best managers going will be a start and something to look forward to. Nobody is trying to absolve him of the shit we've been through.
-
Agreed, I think the reaction on Sunday has tipped everything in our favour. It didn't only show Rafa how everybody feels about him it has shown the likes of Ashley and Charnley what is possible when you have a good manager and one the fans believe in. Next season could be amazing on so many levels as the positivity will be carried over and the place will be rocking and I just wish the new season was starting on Saturday, it's going to feel like forever. So many people have said they're going to go back and getting a new season ticket isn't going to be easy.

Are you saying I live in a dive?

Before actually being at the club, and working with them directly, and watching first-hand as malaise got us relegated. I'm sure a closer look at the club, and it's ownership, probably goes a long f***ing way to making you realise how royally f***ed we are. You seem to be forgetting that he's now worked with them and he's still talking to them. He also said the talks had been professional so far, unless he's lying. If he does say no, as is still my expectation, I'd be very very surprised if Rafa comes out and says "They were c***s, I'm done working for them". He'll say some nothingness about not being able to make it work... and inevitably add on that Mike and Lee are the BEST and they'll turn it round (as he boards the first plane out of here). if he doesn't stay then we can all guess why, until that time it's pointless.

For what? His stock has risen and thus will be more interest in him. He's getting games here and being recognised by his country, he has no reason to move. Apart from maybe playing the Premier League/ champions league? He came here knowing that he might not have the chance to play in the premiership and he certainly didn't come for the CL.
-
We should keep as many of the squad that went down as possible. Most have played better under Rafa and we don't want to have to build a squad to get promotion and then another to compete in the premiership if we get back up. Our current squad would hold it's own in the premiership with Rafa so it's less of a gamble.

I tend to agree, I don't think they would still be talking if yesterday didn't go well.

You really should stop thinking.
