  1. Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim was part of the team which bought Man City for the Abu Dhabi United Group, he was looking at Man City, Arsenal and us. He tried to speak to Ashley who wasn't interested in selling the club.
  2. The owners of Man City were interested in buying us, as to why others haven't, no idea.
  3. We're probably 3 players down as I can't see Routledge coming back.
  4. I agree with most of that except that I don't think Jose will be looking for top 4 if he goes, we'll see.
  5. It would appear that he's not expecting too much good to happen. It was obvious that we were going to sign players in January, look what happened.
  6. Does in not bother you that he might not think we can give him what he wants? I doubt that he'll leave here expecting instant success if he does leave.
  7. And Jose staying was always dependant on him being offered a new contract, he must have been really concerned about that.
  8. I agree with the assumption that he will probably go although I think he could still have a long hard think about it and decide that what he has here isn't so bad. I doubt that if he goes he'll be looking at a club that's in the CL.
  9. He said “If I have to continue here , I’m happy. If I have to go to another club, I’m happy in England.”
  10. Has Jose said that he wants to leave because he wants CL football?
  11. Is it being reported differently anywhere else?
  12. The comments you made about players and contracts were opinion and couldn't be proven or disproven so I didn't see any point on commenting as I couldn't agree or disagree. You seem to think that the club can't do anything to shape it's own destiny and that anything which happens just happens. I think that the football club could and should be able to keep players but too many negatives are preventing us from doing that.
  13. I didn't say that the club was falling apart, I said things and by that I meant everything that got us back into the Premiership. Jonas and Coloccini are now being mentioned as doubts for being here next season. I'm not sure where that's come from but it's not looking too good and it appears that players may have become unsettled.
  14. It's only the right decision if the money makes the team stronger, I see no reason to take it for granted that it will, even if you seem to find it easy to do so.
  15. Hughton was sacked. Carroll has gone. Nolan hasn't signed a new contract. Barton hasn't signed a new contract. Enrique hasn't signed a new contract. Whether any of the possible reasons you mention are true or not makes no difference, they and are a sign that things are falling apart. Of course everything could turn out to be for the best, I doubt it.
  16. Like I said, that was only one of the problems.
  17. Selling Carroll is only one of the problems, one of many.
  18. We didn't have to spend the money you mention. The club had just been promoted and the fans and players felt good about that. We'd had some brilliant results both home and away and the club was on a high until the pricks who run the club decided that they weren't going to give the manager a new contract. The club was starting to benefit from the stability that was developing until that was all brought to an abrupt end. Is it a coincidence that things are looking to fall apart? I doubt it.
  19. Actions speak louder than words and the actions of our club doesn't point to us doing anything soon. Even without selling Carroll we had a poor transfer window in January and did nothing to keep hold of our better players. Getting rid of Routledge was moronic, even if he was only kept as back up, he was worth keeping. We went into that window probably needing another forward, we came out with one less. Edit We've also sacked a popular manager and brought in a manager who shouldn't have even been considered for the job, he wasn't an appointment which will have made the players sit up and think we were about to take off as a club.
  20. If CL football is a must then he should stay well away from Liverpool as they've little chance of finishing top 4 in the near future.
  21. I think they'll offer him a decent contract and it will not be enough because I don't think money is a driving force for him. He's earning more than enough and he has ambition and we have nothing to offer on that front.
  22. The difference is that even if the players are sold I'd expect the money brought in would be more likely to be invested back into the first team than when we sell players.
  23. Ok, let's judge them on what might happen.
