I think the increased movement that the new players bring will be a massive plus for Jonas as he'll not have to keep looking for Enrique (if he's still here) to pass to.
-
Agreed, I remember commenting on that after some of the games. The crosses into the box were wasted as we had nobody getting on the end of them. All a winger can do is get the delivery into danger areas, it's up to others to get on the end of them.
-
He's the right person for the job and it's a massive turnaround from when he first arrived.

I'd take N'Zogbia from Wigan without thinking about who those team have that I would like to see here.
-
The spelling mistake is for the benefit of Neesy Your wrong, Sunderland Man U and Norwich have got in more players in than we have so far and we're being out-spent by Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Norwich, the mackems, Wolves and probably Chelsea. We're just ahead of Swansea and Wigan althought I'm not surprised as this is a typical response from you.
-
What has the £35 million got us so far?
-
Love it, now we have to wait until we've spent it. That'll mean we can't discuss it this transfer window.
-
I'm not even sure that we have improved on the pitch, we'll have to wait and see but we've shipped out a lot of goals that will need replacing or we'll have to tighten up at the back just to tread water.
-
Actions speak louder than words and so far we have 2 free transfers and a training ground upgrade, I don't need Pardew to tell me we haven't spent it, and we're unlikely to spend it. Even though we were told that we were close to breaking even without selling Carroll.
-
What does it get you then?
-
So £35 million now only gets you 2 free transfers and a training ground upgrade.
-
Get them two in and keep injuries down and we could have a very good season.
-
How much is he worth a week?
-
Nolan and Venison probably, Barton was reasonably highly regarded when he was at Man City. Bowyer was shite here, Beardsley is debatable as he was still a good player when we brought him in.
-
Giving Barton a fine would depend on what he said.
-
I did say "if," as none of us know what Pardew does or doesn't want. What he says means as little as him saying nothing at all.
-
So did Nolan until he left, most players get on with the manager while at the club.
-
Ashley can't sell Barton if Barton decides that he's going to stay and I think Barton's the type of person who could do that. I don't think he's bothered if Ashley, Llambias and Pardew don't want him at the club.
-
You keep mentioning VAT, would the club not be able to reclaim the VAT?

I'm going to wait until the transfer window is closed before deciding whether we've done enough or not. It will be interesting to see where players like N'Zogbia and Sturridge end up if they do move and how much they go for. I'd be more than satisfied with the window if we brought them two in. I'll be seriously pissed off if they both move on for reasonable fees and wages and we haven't tried for them. I couldn’t care if we do or don’t spend the Carroll money, that only comes into play if we haven’t spent it and we’re still short of the players that we need. If we’re just looking for players because they are cheap and don’t strengthen because we won’t spend then I’ll have something to moan about. For now, it’s not worth getting too upset because anything could happen. If we’re to spend all of the incoming transfer fees on incoming players then it’s more than £35 million anyway as we saved on Carroll’s wages and we’ve sold Nolan and saved his wages which will pay for Cabaye. We should look on his transfer as self financed by the Nolan sale so we still have £35 million minus Ba and Marveaux. As for Pardew, he's a gobshite so anything he says should be taken with a large pinch of salt.

It's the re-investment angle I'm now focussing on. I wouldn't believe Pardew saying every day that he's got plenty money to reinvest until I actually saw it, but it's noticeable that he's now saying much smaller scale stuff. Why have you got Lambias as your avatar picture, btw? Is he a hero of yours? So you're focussing on the re-investment angle but decided to post the multiple quotes from Pardew where he said Carroll wouldn't be sold before he put a transfer request in and Liverpool offered a ridiculous amount of money. Nice. Didn't Pardew also come out shortly after and cleared up his original quotes stating the fee would cover fee's and wages? I interpret his comments to mean that 2 more will come in being a left back and a striker which will take our squad to it's 25 man capacity, of course I'd expect any outgoings to be replaced with upgrades where possible on a 1 in 1 out basis after that. Derek's not a bad bloke. Why have you got Beardsley as your avatar? Not only did the bloke walk out on the club to play for Liverpool but sold out to the Cockney Mafia this time around. Scandalous. Derek's not a bad bloke. Based on what?
-
I can understand that but the same could be said about buying any player to a certain degree because all contracts come to an end.
-
A players worth shouldn't be decided by his length of contract. It should be judged on his value to the team that's buying him.

N'Zogbia is a proven quality Premiership player who knows the club and knows the City. If he's prepared to come here then I can't think of anybody better who would come here for what he would be likely to get. We would probably be able to attract somebody who was proven in another Country but I doubt we could get anybody as good and proven in the Premiership. I would have thought that being Premiership proven would add something to a transfer fee and wage deal as it's less of a risk. No foreign player would know what he was getting into as well as N’Zogbia would know and again, that would be worth something as he’d settle straight into the club and area, others may not.
