No offence but some of your posting on here had me thinking that you were much younger.

Ranger can finish, last season he was being brought on when we were winning and he was being told to hold onto the ball.

Btw Mick, that was me next to Greg. I'm suprised you seemed sensible.

Lovenkrands ... He couldn't do the job Ranger had to do tonight.

He's really not. But I agree he's better here than away on loan considering we still have Ameobi and Best. I hope you don't think either of those are better.

I didn't see him do anything, I just heard the mackems winge and then the ref decided to send him off.

As has been said, Ranger had an excellent game and I'm glad that we haven't loaned him out because he's our 2nd best forward after Carroll.

I didn't see any fighting but I'm not surprised to hear they've had a go at each other as a group of kids went out to look for trouble. The same idiots who were smashing seats then legging in when the coppers came, morons.

    He's not called Benjamin.

Some players can't handle the pressure that we put them under, Jenas and his "Goldfish Bowl" comments spring to mind. Others love the attention that they get and thrive on it, you’ve mentioned two. Both of those knew that the fans wanted them to do certain things and they would try things which others either couldn’t or wouldn’t. Some players need the confidence of knowing that they have the fans behind them because not everything that they will try is going to come off, Coloccini might be an example of that. We groan when he does something wrong but he knows that we’re on his side because the next time he does something the crowd will be signing his song. Enrique also keeps banging on about the crowd so we’re also important to him and I think he plays better for it. Footballers usually play better when they are happy and confident, having players who appreciate the limelight is always going to give them a head start.

I don't agree, if he gets the fans on his side then everything else will be easier for him.

Taking possible injuries while on international duty out of it, I would think that both of our new players would want to get a game for us ASAP. Plus being selfish, I want to see them play for us.
  14. I'm impressed if that's true.

I think the club will be delighted if they have to sign Ben Arfa, I can't see them dropping him unless he's not good enough.

This international break is a bastard.
  17. Somebody who posts on here either saw something at one of our away games or was told about it and it's somebody who isn't a bullshitter. It's up to them if they read this and want to comment on it.

I hope not, with a bit of luck Carroll will only be going so that the England team doctor can confirm the injury.
  19. Barton did go in two footed against Alonso though, was it next to the corner flag?

My guess is that Ben Arfa will come off the bench against Blackpool, I just hope that he gets plenty of time to show us what he can do. I hope that he gets a good reception which will allow him to settle him in. He seems to be one of those players who needs to feel wanted and if he gets the kiind of reception that Coloccini and Enrique get then he'll be OK.

To be fair to Hughton, he did well for the team when he stuck with Carroll at a time I thought he should have been run out of the club. I don't know if he took the easy option or not but it was the right one for both the team and the club.

I think this transfer window has been a massive plus for Hughton because I didn't think he had it in him to identify where we needed strengthening but he's done it. I didn't think he'd want to disrupt the dressing room, he potentially has and he should benefit from it if the players perform as well as they should. His progress as a manager has been as good as the progress made by Carroll and he’s also got to take a massive amount of credit for that as he stuck with a player who until Christmas wasn’t pulling up any trees, now he’s being mentioned as a possible England international.

or quinn ? I was more bothered about Kelly as he'd done so much to get us up but wasn't given a chance to gain any of the rewards.
