  1. It would be easier to come up with names of players who got worse.
  2. His should have been the first name in this thread, it's shocking that it has taken until the 10th post before his name gets a mention.
  3. Howey was shit, I couldn't stand him and he was as over rated as Roeder, another central defender who couldn't defend. I couldn’t believe it when Sir Bobby actually got money for him.
  4. Rob Lee became a much better player while he was here, at least until he was on his way down due to age.
  5. We've got the all important 3 points but we were poor for most of the first half and we're lucky this league has been over hyped for years, it really is shit. Coloccini probably had has best game in a black & white shirt today. He read the game brilliantly and gave the Boro forwards nothing at all during the game. I'm not sure if he's getting better or if he's just looking better because of the opposition being poor. Nolan has shown again today that when he doesn't score he offers nothing to the team and our midfield in general is so bland. Guthrie played most of the game in the middle but provided the cross of the season so far for our second goal, I'm not sure I've seen a better cross from anybody this season, it was perfect. Enrique is walking this league and again worked really well with Jonas, sometimes they read each other like Nobby and Dyer did when played together. Enrique made some brilliant tackles when he really shouldn't have been able to, he's streets ahead of any other fullback in the Championship and one of the best in the country, pity he's not English. Harper had little or nothing to do against a forward line that wouldn't have scored if they had played all night. As for Simpson, I still haven't made my mind up on him yet but I think I prefer him to Ryan Taylor. I don't know how we scored 2 goals because I don't think our forwards were very good for most of the game, the midfield don't help with our lack of creativity through the middle, we're so static it's crazy, I hope that this is sorted before the end of the transfer window. I probably sounding like a Ranger groupie but he’s streets ahead of any other forward at this club when it comes to keeping possession, something we hardly managed until he came on. It takes so much pressure off the team when you can hit the ball to him and know it’s not coming straight back at you. That is the worst Boro team that I can ever remember seeing and I've seen quite a few. They are shit from back to front and will not get out of this league this season. They were as bad as any team I've seen up here this season.
  6. The A19 can be shit when it snows, I'd go on the A1, even if it still has the cameras.
  7. I have lived in Scotland and they were brilliant at clearing the roads, they even gritted every single public footpath where I lived.
  8. The local councils probably haven't realised that it's been snowing yet.
  9. I've just got back in and haven't seen a single gritter on any road and they are a nightmare and it's only going to get worse as it's -3'C outside and seems to be getting colder. Driving tonight has been like driving on wet glass.
  10. The last problem we had was against Charlton and the snow came very close to kick off and they couldn't get the roads and paths gritted in time. They said that the amount of slow moving traffic meant they couldn't physically get around the roads in time. I can't see that being a problem this time so the game is almost certain to go ahead.
  11. They said they would give names of backers; they haven't so I can only guess that they don't have anything startling to announce.
  12. I nearly crashed my car today, I went around a corner and a van came at me on the wrong side of the road. The brakes didn't help at all because the road was covered in ice and had a fresh covering of snow on top to make it worse.
  13. I've just stopped seeing little dots in front of my eyes.
  14. we've got 649 tickets left in the Leazes and I'm really not doing the Milburn as my heads battered through looking at those little dots.
  15. 29 left in the East Stand, I'll do the Leazes if somebody does the Milburn.
  16. I'm not doing any more, we've got 329 tickets left in the Gallowgate.
  17. I've just looked online and all but 4 small sections are almost sold out, 3 of those are the usual empty seats in the Platinum club and the other is in the Leazes level 6. We have 24 seats in total still to sell in Level 7. I would guess that we've got less than 2,000 tickets left but I'm not counting them all.
  18. No idea but they said it was a record crowd for this division.
  19. Real Radio said we had sold 47,000 yesterday, I have't heard anything since then.
  20. I'm not sure that's the case but we'll never know either way.
  21. Ferguson was always injured and a waste of space, Bobby peddled him. In his first 12 months he was here 20 players either came to the club or left it, I'd say that was major surgery.
  22. A lot of the players Bobby inherited were injured more often than they played. Others were sulking around like little kids and he had to lift them. We were crap and needed major surgery to get us where we were.
  23. I know what Joe Harvey did here as a player and manager and mentioned it in my post. We were closer to the 2nd division than the CL when Bobby arrived. He came in and had to sell to spend, his early signings were done on the cheap. Bobby Robson was brought in to keep us up and within 3 years we were challanging for the title and CL. If it wasn't for injuries we might have even won our first league title in over 70 years.
  24. Bobby did a brilliant job here and gave us our highest finish in the CL which I think was harder than winning the Fairs Cup as manager or FA Cup as a Captain, not that I'm talking those down.
  25. Joe Harvey deserving a stand doesn't mean Bobby shouldn't have one. I like Joe Harvey but I would rather Bobby had a one named after him if it was a choice between the two.
