  1. I can only see Leicester having a worse year this year. Its not that they don't have good players, it just seems like there is a bit of disharmony amongst fans, lack of signings, manager on the brink, money issues and from an NUFC stand point, that leads to poor performances on the pitch. I'd wager they have a bad start, sack Rodgers and then climb up to mid table, then they can reinvest next summer. There's a couple of other clubs I think will have a slump, Brighton and Wolves to name a couple.

  3. Talk to me about sharks. That will cheer me up.
  4. Honestly, think this is the first time one member of this forum has made me think twice about coming in here. Ah man, it's genuinely upset me because this place has been part of my life for so long.
  5. Reet first time I've had to use the ignore function in 17 years. Sorry about that fellas. Where were we? Oh aye, Maddison is class, sign the cunt.
  6. Except, the forum made it clear who they think is a "tit" didn't they? Gutted for you.
  7. A conversation I was having with myself? You quoted me? And started talking about a completely different subject. And I will say this, just for you, Bruno was BETTER VALUE. You still haven't apologised for the other day, you know when everyone made you look a dick for taking a cheap shot at me and LV? You disappeared for a couple of hours because the forum backed us and not you.
  8. I won't be preached to by a Leicester fan on how a big club should act thanks. We were paying big boy prices when you were still in nappies pal.
  9. I was talking about where you could find value in the market and you started blathering on about Maddison playing for 4 years in the PL. My point is that Bruno is a better player than Maddison or at least comparable (if you ignore they play in different positions), therefore we did find value in the market and can in the future markets. We don't NEED to spend 60m to sign quality players and quite frankly I couldn't give a fuck if they are playing on the moon of they are good enough.
  10. Precisely. We've signed two quality players for less than 40m each. For the stage we are at, the might not want to lump 60m on one player, despite him being mint. Just bare in mind that 60m we effectively signed Botman, Trippier and Pope. When you look at it like this, you can see why they won't go there.
  11. Read again what you've written. It makes no sense.
  12. I don't agree we got lucky. We saw a deal and snapped it up. There will be others. However I completely agree with your second point. Leicester have the ability to hold out more than Lyon. The foreign market, if you get your scouting correct can save you money. Be interesting to see how this plays out.
  13. I doubt Ashworth and Co see it that way. It's good scouting, good research, good timing and good negotiations. For now, it's these deals we are looking at.
  14. Well that's kind of my point. The people in charge of transfers are looking for value. We signed Bruno, for waaaaaay less than what he worth to us. I think Botman will turn out the same. They aren't fluke deals, we have people running the club who know how to get a good deal. It takes time and patience and sometimes walking away from a good player.
  15. My subtle point is that I wouldn't sell Bruno for 100m but we signed him for less than 40m in January. So if we signed Bruno for less than 40m just a few months ago, why would we now pay 60m for someone of comparable talent?
  16. Would have a year and half left on his contract, so I'd wager he would be. We played this tactic with Botman, it worked. We would have sign Ekitike if it wasn't for PSG too.
  17. For those saying Maddison is worth 60m, how much is Bruno worth?
  18. Still don't think Paqueta will ever be off, so long as he's still at Lyon.
  19. Something is worth what someone is willing to pay or sell. When we have signed Bruno and Botman for 30/40m each it's hard to argue against trying to sign players below the 45m mark. Someone needs to quote what the Liverpool fan posted the other day, about us acting similar to Micheal Edwards. We won't go above what we think he's worth but the question is how much do we think he's worth? Personally I'm ecstatic that we are in for these sorts of players and I'm sure that we will go back in for Maddison in January if we don't get him in the summer. We are lining up long term targets and sometimes patience is key. We won't go without the required players this window, but we may move down our list in order to make sure we have 2 more bodies in.
  20. So is our strategy right now to try and sign one quality player in an attacking area, whether it's a ST, LW, RW or AM doesn't really matter? And more over, are we putting it low ball offers for various players in those areas, Harrison, Gordon, Maddison, Harvey Barnes etc and trying to see which deal looks the best? If that is our strategy, who else might we have made low ball bids for? I'm thinking particularly of players in this country and predominantly British? Or is that not what we ars doing? Are we going for Maddison AND Harrison? And where does Cornet and Dennis come into this? Edit: There is definitely a trend to our targets, young, British and at clubs outside the top 6.
  21. We will have at least 2 new players by September, I'd rather wait for good ones, than settle at this stage.
  22. It's clear that both sides are playing propaganda here too by the way. One side (us) is saying its a 50m bid, probably after numerous add ons and clauses. Where as the other side is saying 40m, which I'm sure is closer to the base offer. The reality is that Leicester will be looking at the merits of the offer, for example; how likely is it that Maddison plays x games, scores x goals or NUFC win the champions league. How the payments are structured is irrelevant for the selling side, because as we have already seen, you can just get a loan in order to have the funds immediately, which is pretty much the way most deals are done now. Hopefully, we have Leicester at the table.
