With Maddison, they can turn a player who wants to leave and who's contract is edging toward an end into a positive, if they sell him for 50m and reinvest into the squad. Where as selling Fofana opens up a problem at CB, which they already suffered with last season and still leaves the issue of Maddison signing a new deal, which i suspect he might not. Also isn't Fofana their golden boy and most exciting young player?

Fofana is liable to be worth the same money in 12/18 months time, Maddison isn't.

There's no doubt he was out of form and low in confidence mind. He offers alot without the goals. Stretches teams, runs the channels, quick on the counter and has energy to press.

I might be wrong but I'm fairly certain he played up front on his own all his career until Chelsea moved him out wide.

We aren't, it's a headline error. Basically we are going to go in with another offer, of which we don't know how much. Our problem is getting Leicester to the table IMO, I think Leverkusen never seriously considered selling Diaby. If Leicester say we want 60m, that means we can start bringing them down. As you say, structured payments can be key.

At least top 6 IMO. In 12 months ASM will have gone from our most important player to our weakest in that front 6 and that's not a criticism of him.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. Honestly been on here 17 years and literally have only met one other member of this forum once, but feel like I know a lot of you personally. I'm not bothered if someone agrees with my opinions, as long as I feel as if I've put them across well and opened up discussions that will do me.
