  1. Caulkin definitely said about a month ago that it could be done by Wednesday. Although, in fairness he didnt specify which Wednesday.
  2. The amount of paper work involved will be unreal. I imagine the PL will want the names of every company set up by AS/Reubens/PIF, to check none of them went under. I mean, there could have been hundreds set up with companies house, that means hundreds of bits of paperwork, all needing checked. It will be complex as fuck. Still... I wish they would hurry the fuck up.
  3. I've turned proper negative about the whole thing. Its ground me down. It's almost as if it has to be this way. Something which is going to be mint, has to make me fucking miserable before I can enjoy it. Classic Newcastle.
  4. You have to start questioning Caulkin at this point mind. He said they expected PL approval on a wednesday, what, 4 weeks ago now? It can be an ongoing process but cant be an indefinite one? At some questions have to be asked about what more the PL need. I'm not buying all this "next week", stuff. No fucker knows, including Caulkin.
  5. Even if the PL approved this takeover on tuesday, you are looking at thursday minimum for any confirmation. There is a more than high chance that this week is a write off. Next Monday is the next realistic date IMO and that's only if we get PL approval this week. Which is almost certainly why the 1st of June has been thrown around. Let's be honest Caulkin was told almost a month ago that the PL were close to approval, so I honestly dont think any fucker knows what is going on.
  6. I highly doubt the takeover will be done in the coming week. Why would it?
  7. Tyrone Mings might be another one worth looking at. Just broke into the England squad and seems to have a lot about his game. I know centre half isnt first priority but I doubt that will matter to anyone coming in. Hes also at the perfect age, 27.
  8. ... or, hire a new manager and put him in place straight away.
  9. The shock! It was his colleague who wrote the article saying the checks where done as well. Where is this?
  10. It definitely does sound like he means the checks are still ongoing though, wether he meant it that way or not. Yes but I dont think anyone has reported that they are officially complete, well, noone reliable.
  11. Yes, it was a blatant, "I'm not talking about this now." It's been said a dozen times that it's not for the PL to announce a takeover or indeed whether they have completed the tests.
  12. Sounds good until you realised he then messed around Keegan, tried to get Sam back and even told him it was a mistake to sack him.
  13. Think it would be a clear Rafa win TBF. I dont think anyone would be annoyed with Poch though.
  14. So... nothing has happened again today. Cant wait for the, "yeah but its moving closer, honest!"
  15. I find it hard contributing to this thread because we have no idea what sort of money is going to be available. If we do have a fair chunk... Jack Grealish is where I would start.
  16. SD have paid sponsorship over the last couple of years, although that is below the market rate. They will legally be entitled to seeing out this season at least, so taking down the signs before the season ends is unlikely. Alongside this it maybe a case of having to keep Ashley happy until we know we have control over everything, he may have done deals like he did at Rangers and may have sold things like image and copyrights to himself. We would need to know if he has and buy them back before we decide to piss him off. Most importantly though, the SD rights will not be a priority. Possibly giving fans a refund, sorting out the coaching staff, playing staff even even possibly sorting out other sponsorship deals (like the shirt sponsorship) will all be more of a priority. What would be the legal ramifications for reneging on our sponsorship with SD? A fine? Compensation for SD? Get them fucking signs down.
  17. Of course we’re not Government set to announce they are. Bit late mind.
  18. Neil Custis does Sunday Supplement, that's why they are reporting it. Even sky have to be seen to back reporters who work on their channel
  19. Mersons football analysis aside, you cant help but admire his battle against addiction and his openness towards mental health. Watching Harry's heros, its wonderful to see men in 2020 talking so openly about these issues. Lee Hendrie tried to kill himself, Ruddock gets a pacemaker, Vinnie Jones lost his wife and Harry Redknapp lost his friend in a car crash which he survived. Footballers doing good things.
