  1. Looking at the legal aspect of a home purchase (I know not exactly the same) the seller would probably face a lawsuit if he backed out. I'd be very surprised if this wasn't tied up within the contract after last time with Staveley and Ashley. 'If the seller has accepted the offer on their home, they are obligated to perform if the buyer fulfills their obligations. However, if the buyer can't meet contingencies (such as appraisal or lending), the seller may get out the contract unscathed. If the buyer holds up their end and the seller doesn't, they're in breach of contract and would be liable for damages, according to the terms of the contract.' That makes sense. So if they failed the checks, they could potentially get their deposit back but if they just had a change of heart, they wouldnt. Also, yes I suspect that Ashley would face a lawsuit even if he repaid a deposit, because Staveley and co would have spent a fortune on lawyers, solicitors etc just on the PL checks. Sounds a fairly watertight deal, to me anyway.
  2. I'd be shocked if it was anything else. Ashley looks after number 1. He would leave himself an out, but that process would be a waste of time, money and uncertainty for himself so I cant see it.
  3. What. What a weird link. He's still in the area though so plausible that Staveley has contacted him. Yeah, it fits in with Staveley connecting with the NUFC community. I'm not sure how serious the link is mind. I suspect the Chronicle will have links to Dabizas though.
  4. I'm fairly sure, and correct me if I'm wrong, that the deposit works like this: Pay deposit. Buyers back out = They lose the deposit. Seller backs out = He has to repay the deposit.
  5. I think TG's content is better than his personality. Lawrence is much the smarter interviewer. I do like their stuff, I just wish Brian would talk about himself less.
  6. To change subject somewhat, I'd be well up for a former player to be involved at a higher level.
  7. Personally, i prefer no news (unless the takeover is announced). Its the mindless articles from the southern press and click bait which annoys me. Although it is interesting to note that alot seem to get anxious when they are not drip fed the progress. Caulkin was literally told by Staveley last weekend that they expected the checks to be completed this week. We dont know if they have/havent but there is absolutely zero to suggest there has been any problems. Christ, have none of you ever dealt with solicitors etc in your life? Being frustrated out of your mind is par for the course.
  8. Ah ok, fair enough. I think they should just review the situation in september. Theres no reason to make decisions so far into the future.
  9. Had on. They are talking about finishing the season, which I can understand from a financial point of view. They arent actually considering having fans in the stadiums though right?
  10. Yeah, I'm going to have a lie down. Peace and love guys.
  11. I never said you had used it. You wet yourself whenever anyone says they find it embarrassing though. Shouting about how PISSED you're going to get is just not something I've ever found particularly funny. Your mileage may vary. Again, "wet myself" You really don't need to be so dramatic to try and make a point. Nobody has pissed themselves, nobody is upset, blushing or "cringing to an early grave". I totally understand people's feelings on the bigger issues, the human right's abuses, the way it is sitting uneasy with people, and I totally understand their take on it. Fully respected. But when people are then also jumping on stupid pointless things like a daft "cans" thing (and it does seem like the same people that have the other issues) it just comes across as people trying their hardest to piss on people's chips about every little thing. This was my point. I kind of get the idea of it being cringey but it tells you about someones mentality when they have to tell you that what you are doing doesnt suit their tastes. Its screams superfan. Again, it's not personal to Wullie, theres more and more of it recently.

Shouting about how PISSED you're going to get is just not something I've ever found particularly funny. Your mileage may vary. Who gives a fuck what you think is funny? You sound like a right boring bastard, going around tutting at people and telling people what they should and shouldn't think. If people want to say #cans, let them. I'm not stopping them. You're the guy in the office who says he wants a "pint of lager hur hur hur!" when anyone asks him if he wants anything from the kitchen aren't you? I've said the phrase "cans" twice. Once in a message to a mate and once right now. Calling someone cringey is an attempt to belittle other peoples actions. It's a few people having a laugh on the internet, largely because they are bored as fuck. We have been on this forum together for 15 years and you have a lot of good stuff to contribute but recently there has been a hell of a lot of condescension from you.

  14. Yes you have, you've been sniping in this thread and others at any media mention against the takeover. And you and others have been been sniping at those who want a takeover. You do this by saying phrases like "whataboutery", "sportswashing", "human rights abuses". Why should I or anyone else feel guilty about a takeover?
  15. Spot on. It's just the usual people trying to be woke. "But he has a good point about SA". Really? Someone should tell the government what the Saudis are up to.
  16. Yep, we have been alot of players sliding doors moment. Poor Remy Cabella was a massive talent which we ruined.
  17. Mine will be because of the enormous wealth. Edit. Bad time for a new page.
  18. At what point does this guy become someone with an agenda, rather than someone fighting a genuine moral cause?
  19. TBF, most of us trust Caulkin with about as much trust which is possible. He says the checks are nearly done, he says the takeover is nearly done, so we are good. Yorkie, I know you arent been particularly serious. Just dont joke, I'm delicate.
  20. They haven’t passed the test, the money transfer hasn’t even begun
