Where's the link between Wise and Kemsley? There isn't a strong one, they simply all know one another going back to Wise's Chelsea days when Jimenez was heavily involved. Relating to the original post, not so much jobs for the boys as jobs for the ones you trust. Nor would I describe Kemsley as a t***, ruthless c*** maybe, just like Ashley. Neither got seriously wealthy by being nice, two peas in a pod. My swear filter is off. Why am I seeing stars? I always type in stars. If people here have youngsters, they want them to support the team but language blah blah blah etc.

Probably true. The first mention of Woodgate from an ITK was 2nd Jan, though he wasn't the first choice option. But even if he was further down the pecking order, the contact still had to be made, was he available, would he move south etc.

On his way to Hertha Berlin so I believe. can't get a work permit as i said Does he need one as we're now all brothers together in the EU?

The Times: New "Continental" Setup at NUFC (Wise, Jimenez, Vetere)
Martin Lol replied to Rich's topic in Football
As I said in one thread or other, Vetere was wanted by Arnesen to join Spurs when Vetere was still at Charlton. He moved on to Real Madrid. It seems to me that Ashley is getting himself surrounded with the right people who know each other and can work well together. The only exception is Keegan. I think he's the one who will have to adapt or depart. -

You bring in someone who is more conversant with this style of management and is comfortable in the role. That would almost certainly mean a continental coach. -

Not dissimilar to Adebayor who was also crap in his first season. So was Henry tbh.

The Times: New "Continental" Setup at NUFC (Wise, Jimenez, Vetere)

Someone close to Kemsley is saying that Ashley and Wise have been quite matey for a fair few years going back to Wise's Chelsea days, Wise apparently did modelling for the sportswear range years ago. If there is a fallout between Keegan and Wise, seems like there would only be one winner. Part of Wise's role will obviously to maintain continuity when KK does go. -

Why not? Wise and Jimenez knew each other when Wise was at Chelsea. Go with someone you know, get on well with and trust. -
Hard to say really because who will have the say as to whether a player is signed, Wise? Vetere? An agreement between the two? Does Keegan have any input? The build seems to be very similar to Spurs, it's who has an input and who makes the decisions where it may vary. Aye, we might let our manager have the final say! At least I'd hope so, especially as pertains to first team players. Ramos doesn't have the final say but he does have a veto so he can't be given somebody he doesn't want. With Jol, who never had a veto, got Jenas who he never rated. On the other side of the coin Jol desperately wanted Martin Petrov, best mates with Berbatov, and Jol thought that would stop him thinking of ManUtd. Petrov's demands went straight through the roof of the wage structure so Levy and Comolli agreed it was a non-starter even though Jol thought they should have 'made an exception'. Make an exception for one and the rest of the squad will be looking for a payrise.

I think I've got you sussed, if we do well Spurs get the credit. In time all clubs will operate this way.

Sounds good. Can the kneejerkers put the razor blades down now. There's a bit more about Jimenez here: http://www.mailonsunday.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=490125&in_page_id=1779 Also shows the close connections with Kemsley, Spurs etc etc.................

Doing a google, I see he was in the States as a Coerver Skills Coach. Not surprised by that tbh, our skills coach is another follower of Wiel Coerver. Also saw that Vetere had been Charlton's Overseas Scouting Co-Ordinator and left on 31 December 2006. charlton went on a bit of a tie-up spree while he was in charge, forging links with teams from spain to china via ivory coast. can't immediately think of any good young foreigners they acquired during that time tho. here is a bit about that http://www.charlton-athletic.co.uk/Overseas1.ink another article about him: It's Nothing Nou For Vetere JEFF Vetere's career in football has taken him from the cut-and-thrust of the local Kent League to the splendour and glory of the Nou Camp stadium. He has an unquestionable ability to judge a footballer, but Charlton's new overseas scouting co-ordinator admits he has a much simpler secret to his success. "I think people underestimate the value of talking to fans and locals," he revealed. advertisement "If I'm watching an obscure game in Norway where all the players are low profile, people like taxi-drivers and waiters are good for getting the low-down on a player and often the general consensus about a player can be an accurate guideline." Vetere, a former Luton Town apprentice, is of Italian parentage and is fluent in both Italian and Spanish. He left a coaching/scouting post at Vauxhall Conference side Rushden and Diamonds to join Charlton three months ago. He explained: "Virtually everyone is looking to follow the example set by the big clubs. It is now extremely rare to find a club in one of the major European leagues without an active scouting network. "I was part of the meeting which arranged Charlton's pioneering link with Internazionale and I found out they have nine full-time international scouts constantly flying all over the world." The 33-year-old scout recently organised a highly publicised trial for Nigerian international Tijani Babangida at Charlton's Sparrows Lane training ground. But, as he explained, the selection process is not without direction from the management team: "If I like a player, I will write my report and submit it to Keith Peacock, but I have to work to guidelines. "Alan Curbishley and Keith will then decide whether the squad needs strengthening in that position, get a second opinion, and ask me to organise a trial. "But there are a lot of hurdles to overcome. If the player is one of the strongest in his team, it means he is a difficult player to get a trial for. It's like another club trying to get our Scott Parker on trial - you have to be careful." Vetere, who was a youth coach at Charlton four years ago, is aware he could be accused of bringing in "foreign merce-naries" ahead of home-grown youngsters. He said: "I understand the club's English identity is very important, but if you want to keep on developing you have to give yourself as much scope to improve as you can. "Charlton's hard-working academy department is as good as I've ever seen as, like everyone else, its strives to produce players. I also think it is important for youngsters to look up to the highly technical foreign players playing in the Premiership." He must have been some good otherwise he wouldn't have wound up at Real!! It seems like he left soon after Curbishley, maybe he could see the writing on the wall. The fact is that since those two left Charlton, the club's movement has been backwards.

Not a lot to be honest. I know Arnesen was keen to get him on board when he was at Spurs, went to Real about a year ago. That's about it. I saw someone was wondering about the wisdom of asking Kemsley about Newcastle footballing matters. Nothing to worry about on that score. PK would never stitch up MA, guaranteed.

That's what it said on the tin. What it said on the tin and what you got in the tin weren't the same. How much was he paid? £150k but it was a while back now. oh man.. do you keep some sort of a database? Fairly common knowledge. The decimal point went into the wrong place in the contract tbh.

3-0 Deja vu.

No new RB then Best of luck, Ollie. A chance of getting Chimbonda according to a certain notorious "journalist". Chimbo's departure was dependant upon getting his replacement in first.

Woodgate to Arsenal? ITK's are saying Woodgate isn't interested in joining the scum and will be a Spurs player. They're normally accurate but the choice of CL football or the Carling Cup Final??

Nah, just rested. Should play on Thursday. Not what I'm hearing. 'A few weeks on the sidelines'. Itk's are full of rubbish tbh. Won't have long to find out.
