  1. Every game against Stoke should have about 10 minutes of stoppage time. If it's 3 or 4 minutes in a normal game, how about a game where they take 30 seconds over every throw in? Such a detestable team, gutted they'll be around next season.
  2. If we lose, yes, things are going to look bleak. But after next week the fixtures are a bit better in terms of our games and our rivals' opponents, so don't shit the bed if we lose.
  3. What the hell formation did we finish the game with I doubt that will be tried again, Jonas having a free role was good news when he came on. Carroll and anyone up front. Nolan defended alright but his short passing...christ. To many occasions we had about 3 players within 5 yards of each other, and we don't have the ability to play out of those situations. I sympathise with Shearer on his selection, had it been the 4-3-3 (or 3-4-3?) we'd trained with all week, it may have been different.

  5. Considering "we've trained all week with the 3" (Shola, Owen and Martins) what the hell were we planning on playing until his late injury? Some sort of 3-4-1-2? Either way, we've played shite, don't look like scoring and we need a hero.
  6. My guess is that the team Winn posted was the plan, but Martins has got a late knock or something. Either that or he's just a fucking lucky guesser
  7. That's a somewhat elaborate game of Chinese whispers. I've always wondered what "rumour going around the ground" actually means. I reckon one guy behind him has said "Curbs on Monday" and another will have said "naaaah Reidy."
  8. My mackem mate at the match seems to think there's two big rumours going around the Stadium of shite - one is that Curbishley will be appointed on Monday, the other is that Peter Reid will be.
  9. If we're 18th and the teams above us are miles ahead then we may as well be 19th. I don't see why people don't see this. Look at the remaining fixtures and you'll see why Hull are in the shit.
  10. It's better than a Hull win..draw would be ideal.
  11. In my opinion: Pompey beat WBA - Pompey will be fine, WBA are shit. Spurs/Hammers - Who cares. Boro/Hull - Draw please. Boro win would be preferred over a Hull win IMO, I know it would drop us to 19th but we still need the teams out of the bottom 3 to be in touching distance mackems/Man Utd - Man Utd by a hatful Chelsea/Bolton - Chelsea, keeps them in the title hunt so they keep playing full strength teams against our relegation rivals Wigan/Arsenal - Arsenal for the reasons above
  12. Wigan v Arsenal Wigan: Kirkland, Melchiot, Boyce, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Watson, Brown, Rodallega, Scharner, Mido. Subs: Pollitt, Kingson, Koumas, De Ridder, Kapo, Sibierski, Edman. Arsenal: Fabianski, Sagna, Toure, Djourou, Gibbs, Walcott, Denilson, Song Billong, Arshavin, Fabregas, Bendtner. Subs: Szczesny, Nasri, Van Persie, Vela, Silvestre, Adebayor, Eboue. I love that Wigan put 2 keepers on the bench so they both get their appearance bonuses (yes that's a Brucey bonus)
  13. Septik!? They from eastern Europe or something?
  14. Manchester United: Foster; Neville, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea; Park, Scholes, Carrick, Tevez, Rooney, Berbatov. Subs: Kuszczak, Evra, Ronaldo, Anderson, Giggs, Macheda, Nani Man Utd better fucking win.
  15. Look at Boro's next 2 games! I still think it's 2 from us, mackems, Boro and Hull, having seen the remaining fixtures.
  16. Want to hope Man Utd still play full strength at the mackems on Saturday, got a feeling Fergie might save some players for Wednesday
  17. A huddle doesn't necessarily mean they were standing with their arms on each other, a huddle can just mean they were having a chat alone. Which is what it means.
  18. Well ideal world we won't, we'll play Owen and Martins and we'll play like we did for the first hour at home to Stoke, where Martins and Owen tore them each a new areshole. If we're losing the nwe can throw Carroll on. Anyway this is all academic as Shola will probably be back.
  19. I'm working on the theory that those who've seen Ranger first hand have said he's got potential but looks nowhere near the finished article. Carroll has scored two first team goals and wins a fuck load in the air, thought he was an excellent target man against the mackems and if he had someone who could run up alongside him we'd have faired better. Anyway, I don't think he's great, nor do I think he's awful, and I'd rather throw him in than a completely untried kid against Stoke's giants.
  20. Shows the mentality of this forum where one striker scores two but the cult hero sets one up and it's he who should get the start.
  21. We never win games like this Nailed on that Beattie will score by the way. I can already hear Jon Champion screaming something about the student getting one over the teacher, odious prick.
