  1. One, which is more than Duff. Zog's assists: Technically Xisco's against Hull (shot hit the post) Martins vs. Wigan (Coventry if it's an OG) Duff's assists: .
  2. West Ham selling their players nicely in time for their visit up here, 5 days to get rid of Upson and/or Green. I'm assuming Bellamy will be giving this a miss
  3. Milner is English which doubles/triples his transfer fee in today's market. We'd get £4m tops for Zog, which is a damn shame.
  4. Johnie Jackson has had his pop on the big stage. The likes of him & Richie Wellens are best off lower down the league looking class acts. I think he means Simeon Jackson, the guy who scored the goal.
  5. Why not? Look what the final was last year. One of Everton and Liverpool will be out, it's not impossible for Spurs to knock out Man Utd. f*** knows if Chelsea will even win away at Southend the way they're currently playing. Even if they do, they could draw another big team in the 5th Round. I don't see the point in being so pessimistic when are next 2 ties are very winnable home games. I admire your optimism and yes, we could go far if we can get past Hull and Milwall/Crewe, which we really should. Problem is we both know we're a bit shit, and as a result at home to Hull isn't even as certain as it should be/would have been a few years ago. There are very few games we go into now where I think we are going to win - look at Stoke the other week - obviously the flipside of that is that we've picked up some unexpected points away from home. Realistically though, can you see us winning it? Given general peformances this season, I'd have to go with no, but you never know.
  6. I normally want Man Utd to lose but the prospect of them knocing out Spurs appeals too much. And it's not like we're going to win it.
  7. In the summer everybody we signed was a surprise. The problem is this time JFK is in the paper everyday saying we want to sign x y and z. You can't conduct yourself like that because manager's don't like their players being unsettled and so play hardball, and then the only chance you have is if the player really wants to move, and with us being in the state we are I find it unlikely anybody is deperate to come here.
  8. Bearing in mind Setanta picked Tottenham vs Wigan, I reckon they'll probably take the mackem game no matter who it's against.
  9. Good draw, two home ties to get into the 5th round is really good news. However, we'll probably fuck up against Hull. Wonder if we'll have to play on the Sunday or get an early kick off as the mackems are also at home (hopefully to Blyth, but even if it's Blackburn, at least Blackburn might beat them)
  10. Martins scored a goal with that injury on December 14th, was doubtful for our next game on the 21st, was 50/50 for the game on the 26th and "should probably be back" for the 28th. And now he's out for a further 2 weeks. Do our doctor's just guess or something?
  11. Xisco will be sold. The rest is a mystery.
  12. Liverpool had one disallowed as well tbf. Also we only scored that disallowed goal because their defence stopped tracking Owen once the flag went up
  13. Would've happily taken that a few weeks ago. With City, Spurs, Boro and Blackburn also just starting it's likely to be even worse by 7pm tonight
  14. So we're 14th as it stands, mackems lose and we're 13th. Happy f***ing new year
  15. Viduka: 'I didn't hear the fans because I went straight down the tunnel but it doesn't matter. They're the best fans in the world anyway.' Sarcasm?
  16. You've actually managed to display the biggest lack of logic in argument in many a year. Congrats. explain, were talking about a team that have lost twice to spurs and drawn against west ham, hull, stoke, all at home. Im not ready to give up on newcastle. If it was our first 11 I'd like our chances of maybe nicking a draw if we played well, but as it is I'm not sure we have 11 fully fit players.
  17. Newcastle (from): Given, Coloccini, Gutierrez, Butt, Guthrie, N'Zogbia, Duff, Owen, Harper, Taylor, Geremi, Edgar, Xisco, Carroll, Ameobi, LuaLua, Gonzalez. Gonzalez.....crikey
  18. If Everton could get that whole "winning at home" thing sorted out then they could do very well the rest of the season

He was certainly left back on at least one occasion, me and Duff11 (ironically) were on about it the other day. He played left back against Fenerbahce
