  1. "Huysegems is tonight's Darren Bent" Errrrm
  2. If those players aren't believing after back to back home wins they shouldn't be playing
  3. Everyone played well tonight, even those who maybe weren't that good with the ball at their feet ran their arses off and that's all you can ask. Was notable the amount of back tracking our lot did tonight (especially Shola, obviously bollocked for being a lazy shit at times against WBA) Full backs were disciplined, went forward when the time was right, Beye's ball in for Taylor was a beauty, shame he couldn't get anything on it. I thought Butt did the holding role brilliantly tonight, I know he's been shit recently but I don't remember him giving it away all that much tonight and he generally looked quite composed - and what an effort that free kick was! Maybe when we all thought Butt was bad for Guthrie it was in fact Guthrie who was bad for Butt....but time will tell. Jonas up until his assist had done what Jonas does - pick up the ball and run run run, but hadn't actually created anything - the run for the goal was sublime and the pass made it so Martins couldn't miss. Still think we'll see the best of Jonas away from home when the onus is on the home team to attack and Jonas can actually run into space instead of a wall of defenders. Duff was Duff...didn't do badly but contributed nothing but hard work. Not a bad thing but would it be too much to ask that our left winger actually supplies a cross into the box at least once a game? After a shocker opening 20 from Colo where he didn't know whether to stick or twist - he couldn't decide to try and read Carew's flick ons or to actually challenge him he eventually settled down and along with Taylor did very well. Don't remember Taylor doing too much shit tonight, do it week in week out and it'll be happy days. Shola - what has happened!? Actually tries these days, similar to Heskey in that I don't ever feel confident he'll score but he's working for the team. Martins - was lively all night, first goal wasn't even the cleanest of hits but was accurate and powerful enough. Second he couldn't miss but well done to him for getting in the position, Martins doesn't get enough tap in goals. Barton - Nice to have some fight and a midfielder who passes forwards. And is a bit of a naughty chap but that's all part of his game. Well done boys, just don't lose at Fulham please!
  4. Personally think West Ham are in a fair bit of shite. And Stoke are doomed once somebody figures out how to defend long throws.
  5. The video shows he plays some good passes from centre midfield, the one for Dyer in the league cup was a particular highlight. As for the goal in question it shows him standing exactly where I'd expect the player playing left wing to be standing for a cross from the right.
  6. It came from the corner of the box. The left corner of the box...
  7. I've mentioned it a few times and I'm not saying it's gospel but let me explain. Before the Arsenal game I was listening to Radio Newcastle, and Mick Lowes was running through the sides and said "Jose Enrique plays at left back, which is a bit of a surprise as he was close to securing a move to Spain yesterday.." or words to that effect. Now yes, most people will say "oh it's fat Mick, what does he know" but Lowes spends sometime with the players doing the pre-match interviews, he's bound to be more clued up than most. Anyway, the point is, I'd be very surprised if Enrique is still here at the end of January. Which is a damn shame, because he hasn't done a lot wrong really. A few errors yes, but he's young and usually quite good. Kinnear has praised his attacking attributes, something often overlooked by Keegan. He's a better left back than Bassong - there's a case to play bassong against Bolton, Stoke and other physical sides but he shouldn't be first choice (he should be given games at CB somewhere down the line...)
  8. Some of the reactions are extraordinary. Yes, we're shit, and yes, we may well lose tomorrow, but why is everybody so shocked that we've gone down a few places after not playing?
  9. A whole 6 points better off
  10. Can't believe a win, 2 draws and a loss has seen us drop down the table, seems a bit unfortunate.
  11. "Obi's on pens, well, Obi's been taking them in training..." Nicky Butt giving pens away in training too?
  12. I want to say we got nervous because we haven't won in a while but I think the problem is deeper than that, it always is with us. Villa will be a very different proposition.
  13. Good! A left back at left back, our talented midfielder back and Barton to go ape when instructed to. Good times
  14. Promotions from within never seem to work, having said that Portsmouth have a steady back 4 (well, when they actually play 4) so they won't be in too much shit. Astounds me how a guy who was shit at Wycombe is now a Premiership boss, whatever though, not our problem.
  15. Man up. Cheering all those goals will sharp warm you up.
  16. Neither did the early booking (which I thought was harsh). He was always likely to be quiet after that. Fair point. If he hadn't been booked I think he'd have tripped Diouf 35 yards or so out instead of pulling out of the tackle as he had to in the build up to their 2nd goal. Never! I enjoy stating the obvious Surely time for a username change after yesterday, by the way? Your lack of knee-jerkiness is most disappointing. Wullie gave me this burden in the hope it'd see Duff fuck off (like it did Woodgate, Parker & Bellamy) but so far it's been to no avail.

  19. Guthrie's difficult to work out. Against Everton he was superb at keeping possesion and helped us pen them in at times. Against City and the mackems he was anonymous. Having said that, Butt is his partner, which can't help.
  20. Yeah, may aswell not bother for the other TWENTY EIGHT games. f*** sake it is a possibillity, that they wont. sake f*** Jesus wept.
  21. Yeah, may aswell not bother for the other TWENTY EIGHT games. Fuck sake
  22. We're on Sky, and Arsenal vs Spurs is on on Wednesday Finally good to see a reasonably likely team selection, none of this "zomg 3-5-2 wing backs Xisco MUST PLAY" ideas. Personally I hope Butt doesn't pass a fitness test so we can at least try Barton and Guthrie.
  23. Aye, reckon the 3-0 hammering Pompey got off average opposition on Thursday, coupled with the fact there's no money to improve, showed Redknapp he can't take them any further
  24. So Spurs sack their entire first team staff and replace the manager within an hour. And here we are, nearly 2 months later...
