The 2011-2012 Betting Thread: Last call for 2011/12 football, pretty much
Taylor Swift replied to Stu's topic in Football
Respect I take it that bet is too late now? If you fancy Newcastle to get something today, probably not. If you bet on Man Utd now, if we get something today, Man City will be well over evens before kick-off vs Swansea. Yeah. I'll be honest, I was tempting to let it run but it would have felt wrong to feel good about us losing or drawing today. We need a win and I want my wallet to agree with my heart. This way, no matter what, I'll win money. I'll win a bit more if Man Utd win so I need us to win today. -

Hedged my 5/1 £100 bet for City to win the title by putting £200 on Man Utd to win the title, guaranteeing that I win approx £300. -

They have a lot of pace in their team. -
Alpal, I thought you were Malaysian?

If we get beat tomorrow and Spurs win then we're almost out of the CL because of the GD. If that's the case then I wouldn't mind rolling over for City to fuck Man Utd. We really need a win and a favor from Bolton tomorrow.

A relatively small proportion of his fortune is liquid though. Much of it is tied up in his business interests long term If most of his wealth is tied up in Sports Direct then it is very liquid since he can easily just sell his shares tomorrow.

Never said he's shit every time. It was a general comment that Ronaldo hasn't played well in big games in his Real career. I think that's why he was booed by the fans earlier this season. Why do you think that happened? They were just bored of his a goal a game? He's still only scored two goals in the league in 6 matches against Barca, one of which was a penalty. Hardly prolific. And no assists either.

This golden chapter had to come to an end some day. I hope he succeeds wherever else he chooses to manage and hopefully whoever Barca bring in doesn't attempt to change too much with the team. They are still the best club side in the world IMO.

It's not that we can't have different views. It's that you chose to use Messi's penalty miss as some sort of proof that he's not the best, and you conveniently choose to ignore his performances and goals in two finals. There's no problem with having a different viewpoint if it's logically consistent. Yours isn't. And of course you chose to contrast Messi's miss with what Ronaldo would have done, again also ignoring how shit Ronaldo has been in big games over his Real career.

Hahahahahah fuck off Mourinho. Ronaldo also has missed two of his last pens in CL shootouts, right? Best player ever /alpal

Fuck Mourinho. Come on, Bayern!

Look, man: teams lose yearly in the CL and no one complains. The only reason people are complaining about Barca is because they have achieved so much - they have done what no team has done before. So whenever they lose, it's a big deal. But the only reason they win so much is because they play with this style, which is unmatched. They're not going to abandon the whole reason they've achieved so much in their greatest hour of need. They're going to do what they've done for four years because for four years, they were the best club team on Earth and did what no club team has ever done before. For you to suggest that they abandon that is just unbelievable. They missed Villa a lot today but they still had a ton of chances to kill the game off earlier on. The penalty miss just seemed to have such a big psychological effect on them.
