And he asked for £60m for Giroud. I don't know anything about the club's finances but I bet that Mbiwa goes for a lot less than that.

Drogba massively trolling Barca.

Souness was the worst of all our managers post-SBR because he destroyed a top 4 team for no particular reason. All the other managers since have had their faults - especially the likes of Kinnear and Roeder - but they all came in to situations where things were much tougher and the outlook was bleaker. Souness came in with the team brimming - absolutely brimming - with young talent and he decided to dismantle it by alienating our best player - Bellamy - and then came out and said something stupid like 'youngsters are shit' and sat players like Milner on the bench. He also sold Robert when he still had a good season or two in him and threw away 50m on complete shite. Honestly, Souness is the worst manager I've seen in my lifetime. Dalglish gets a big nomination for that title too but our finances were different at that time but Souness came into an envious position and completely fucked it up.

I hope you win a lot of money throughout the season, David, but I sincerely hope you lose a lot from today onwards until next Wednesday (except if you bet on us) because I god damn know that you're going to lump another sum on Real to get something at the Camp Nou -
It's a foundation about three hours from Bangkok. They teach these kids - kids with learning disabilities, Down's syndrome etc. - songs to help them learn English.

A better GK gets them 10+ points given the amount of shit goals Hennessey has conceded. No joke. I'd say Krul has saved us almost 10 points, so it's not far fetch to suggest that a team like Wolves, who are on the defensive, would benefit much more from a good GK than we do.
-
Fo realz bro. The amount of shit goals he's conceded is astonishing. You go back to the early stages of the season and look at the goal he conceded against Swansea at home for a clear example of how his shit keeping completely demoralizes his team.
-
If this happened 6 months ago, they would have survived.

Agreed.

I like Sigurdsson but we need more pace in midfield. He's a good player but he's not the player for us. We need a better dribbler and someone who can break from midfield, otherwise our attack will be stunted and heavily dependent on Ben Arfa. If we were to sign him then we'd have to replace Tiote, IMO, with a better passer and mover, and have Cabaye cover more defensive duties and hope that the increased attacking prowess covers the defensive frailties which will be exposed when Tiote's not there. Someone like Fletcher is the type of player who would fit in a midfield with Sigurdsson and Cabaye, but if we're staying with Tiote and Cabaye, then we need someone like Wilshere. These are just examples, by the way, in case we're serious about this.
-
Tiote wouldn't get in a combined team. Speed was the more all-rounded MF and Dyer is a must-start in a fantasy team like this. If you had to pick a team for a season then Dyer's a more questionable pick, but he would still be a starter. Woodgate would be Coloccini's partner, not Distin. Krul, Coloccini and Ben Arfa would get in from our current team. It says a lot about how good SBR's team was.

Hughes was immensely underrated. He was good in defense and in attack. Simpson dreams of being as intelligent as Hughes. Who sold him? Souness, wasn't it? Prick.

Man, I really root for you guys to win money but damn if David's hate of Bayern (and Gomez!) and love of Mourinho didn't come back to haunt him last night. I think that's why we people say don't bet with your emotions. The big one could still come off. In the best of worlds, it comes off and Real and Mourinho get dumped out because I really hope you win money, but it's looking pretty dicey now. -
But if they have to chase the game then Real will rip them to shreds on the break.
-
Webb was 10/10 last night until the Marcelo incident. Real will hopefully pay for sitting back all game, but they are fucking dangerous on the counter. I have never seen a team break as fast as Real do, it's stunning to watch. If Bayern can hold out early in the second leg then we'll have a very tasty match because they're good enough on the ball to score against Madrid and Robben and Ribery scare the shit out of Madrid's fullbacks.
-
Same here. Thought he was going to be a bit like Ljungberg was for them. I thought he started well and whenever he didn't play, Arsenal looked toothless. Since the ANC, he's been shite but I think he'll improve next season and be one of their most important players. He's a good dribbler, makes good runs and is very positive - his finishing is shit and his decision-making isn't the best, but both things can be improved.

4-4 with Arsenal, Bergkamp's, Shearer's celebration and Schemichel's save vs us.

I prioritised longevity. If a player was great in the Premiership for a long time then I picked him, which is why I couldn't pick Stam or van Nistelrooy even though their respective peaks are pretty damn good. Shearer and Henry get in because they dominated the league and were here for ages. Ronaldo was spectacular so you have to stick him in. Scholes was a no-doubter, but it was Keane or Vieira for me and I had to go with Keane because he was here for so damn long. The toughest choice was Pires or Giggs but I went with Pires because his peak was magical. In defence, Campbell and Ferdinand were the best at their position for a long period of time, so it was a no-brainer. Cole's the best LB I've seen in Premiership so it was obvious. The dearth of good RBs meant that there was only one choice.

Schmeichel; Neville, Campbell, Ferdinand, Cole; Ronaldo, Scholes, Keane, Pires; Henry, Shearer.

Will we qualify for the Champions League? Sadly not...

I can't believe Gupter started making legible and coherent posts only for them to be about something so fucking pedantic. -
If we get Vertonghen Any news re: Barnetta? Is he still injured? How about M'Bengue? How has he played this season? This is FM-tastic, but if we end up with Vertonghen, Clyne, Barnetta and M Davies

The last 5 pages have been magic. -
It's probably not 100% over from that picture but it sure is now a much more acceptable decision given that it could have been over a millisecond before or after that picture was taken.
