I agree with this, but the first couple of weekends would be a complete farce. We'd have players being sent off in every match and the FA and the refs in general would take an insane amount of criticism. If they were resolute then I agree that it would stop within a month, but the FA haven't shown leadership in any key areas so far so this will never happen, and if it does, they would probably give up on it after the first few red cards.

The fact that we have four points probably makes Ashley think that it's ok to risk and wait until the end of the window. Remember that the fulham league match is our last league match before the end of the window, so as long as this shit gets sorted out by the end of the window, we should be fine. It would have been a disaster if we ended up with something like 1 point from our first three games because we didn't have an LB and a striker. Now, the worst case scenario is four points, which is somewhat acceptable but would be underwhelming because it could easily be seven points.
