tbh i thought emre and enrique should also be put on that comment. i thought them two done well Both of them have been poor. Zoggy offered us nothing going forward, which totally negates his whole presence on the pitch. Enrique has been extremely sloppy with the ball and has given Liverpool at least four or five chances to score. Disappointed in both today, but I can't express the magnitude of my disappointment in BS chickening out and playing some stupid formation again.

Barton and Milner on. Geremi and Butt off. Then we line up in a simple 4-4-2 and go on to win this game. Edit - even the Thai commentators are saying the same things we've been saying.. 'no formation' 'too much chopping and changing' 'no clear wingers'.. the odds that they are actually right when they actually speak are so small that I've actually never seen or heard it in my first 19 years of living.. until today that is.

I reckon we win this one. Emre should start. Oba will start and will trouble them like he did last year. Lastly, I reckon the two week break might have given Allardyce enough time to regain his senses. Howay the lads!

England Won't Be There...So Who Will You Be Supporting At Euro 2008 ?
Taylor Swift replied to Jamie's topic in Football
blueyes.gif Dunno why I like them but they've got that underdog thing going for them plus a few quality players that actually makes it fun to watch them. -
You need someone with experience, someone with a proven track record for handling big egos and someone with some tactical nous. McClaren was wrong for many reasons but one main reason was he wasn't man enough to tell Fatty Frankie to park his fat arse on the bench. Sven failed because he became big pals with Becks. You need someone detached from all that plus all the attributes I listed in the first sentence. Someone like Capello would produce the most boring football but you would win, however, would that be enough for the many fickle fans who seem to outnumber the more rational ones? I'd actually like to nominate someone like Houllier but he'd fail for the same reasons that Capello would, which is incidentally also partially a reason that Sven failed. I think Mourinho would as well (fail in that same way) but he's loved by the media so he'll get that benefit of the doubt that most other managers wouldn't. Edit: But honestly, there's not many managers out there that would make England successful. The problem is deep-rooted and will take a while until sustained success can be achieved. Anything that happens now will be one-offs because the players just aren't suited to the international game.

Redknapp wouldn't command the respect of the players in the dressing room. England aren't in any way similar to a small-ish club with low-medium expectations like Portsmouth. It'll be a disaster.

Both him and Garay are FM legends. -

I would be interested to see what he has spent, always thought he had spent a fair bit there... I think they gave him a decent amount to spend when they first got promoted to the Premiership and after getting relegated last year to make sure they bounced back straight away. Apart from that they haven't give him much. If you look at his transfer dealings this summer he did pretty well for both numbers and quality on a small budget. He'd get double his money back on Kapo now. De Ridder and Palacios were good finds on a free transfer and nominal fee respectively, good technical footballers. Djourou was an astute loan signing and if Borja Oubina hadn't got a season ending injury he would have done the business for them on loan too. The lad has got a couple of Spain caps. Bit of a poor mans Xabi Alonso. Although he did sign Liam Ridgewell for some reason and Maik Taylor still gets a game so it wasn't all good. wow, looking at that list what would that man do without his wenger connection? last year he had 3 arsenal loanees. this year he gets djourou on loan. palacios had a trial with arsenal and wenger didn't have room for him so he called bruce and told him about palacios. and arsenal have a technical relationship with celta vigo and what do you know de ridder and oubina both played for vigo. look for wigan to have a similar arsenal influence. Not a bad influence to have tbf.

That's because we were in the shits before his arrival. He didn't have to come, remember? No one fucking forced him to. Yet he did come, we did get better and he did revive the club. He wasn't on the 'downslide' - I suppose you mean to say 'downside' but you never know with you. If he was, why was he nearly offered the England job whilst in charge of us? Just because he was old doesn't mean that he lost it - Fergie will confirm this view. End of. He's a legend and like Wullie, every time I see a thread about him I fear the worst.

Three players to transform the team.....
Taylor Swift replied to Colos Short and Curlies's topic in Football
It really does That's why I love seeing names like Quaresma, Deco, Diego, VdV et al being mentioned by our fans. -

A touch of class is what I'd prefer; players with technique who also have a good 'football brain'. -
Touche oml, this thread (link below) shows that you've made a good point. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=39644.0;viewResults Still, we must give him time. He deserves it, and the new owners have a right to expect that we show some patience. A lot of things have changed in about 6 months, yet somehow I get the feeling that some people are still as unhappy as they were during the last couple of seasons. Mort deserves the chance to show that him and Ashley will back Sam, and Sam deserves at least this season and the next to show that he can a) bring in the right players, and b) change his attitude regarding away games. A season is really not enough time imo, so unless we're staring at relegation, a top 10 finish this season will hopefully mean SA will get the next season to truly show that he's changed the club. PS. This thread (link below) shows that there have been a certain group of fans who have already changed their minds about BS. http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=39373.0;viewResults

I'd rather give Krul a chance in the unlikely event that both Harper and Given continue to concede soft goals before actually spending any cash which would be best served spent elsewhere.

It is representative to a point though, isn't it? Obviously there will be a margin of error, but if I'm thinking about the right model, this data is statistically significant. That was my point.
-
our fans? are you saying that the people that voted on that poll are the equivelant of our enitre worldide fanbase? It's not even that small of a sample size; more than 50 people have answered so you can actually generalize this data to the whole population because it would be normally distributed now. So yes, what I said still stands.

Breaking news of worldwide importance about fackin Spuhhhs!
Taylor Swift replied to Martin Lol's topic in Football
KD sorta deserves a break. He's been a decent poster of late, hasn't been a WUM, but actually as an intellgent (ish) poster. -
It's worrying that 27% of our fans already deem him to be not 'the man'. And all this after only 12 games. Have some faith!
