We are so shit. -
Triple captain at this stage? I've spent 4 points to bring in Kane for Aguero and Son for Mane. Hope it pays off.

What a hit.

Why would Benítez give a shit right now? He’s staying because he’ll lose £6m if he resigns. What’s the possible negative of finishing out the season? He earns some money and leaves. All of our problems are because of Ashley and the way he does business.

That’s not what Flip said, though.

You chat so much shit every time a Brazilian is involved.

Hazard straight up [emoji91]

How was his goal lucky? Harried the defender into a mistake, followed up his miss. He had other chances as well in the match. He’ll keep scoring because he gets chances.

The WC was infinitely more enjoyable seeing correct decisions being made. I thought it was one of the best WC in a long time. Yes, there were a few 50/50 calls but the refs can be trained to judge these things better. Without VAR they cannot be trained to see and judge handballs like what happened in the WC final because it happens too fast for them to see it. With video the judgment can be refined over time, much like the NBA and MLB continues to refine its judgment of what occurs on the field/court. Rules can change, interpretations can change, but with video we can reduce the variation of judgment, which is more important. The handball in the WC final can be used as an example of a correct decision or a wrong decision, and refs can be trained on that, and then they will use it as precedent in the future. If people don't like the interpretation then the rules can be changed. Hopefully the dinosaurs get outvoted and we get VAR in the PL next season. It's not only about reducing error frequency but reducing variation in judgment. Today one ref's judgment of what is a handball and another's is different because they see the game at different speeds and different views. With video, they can see the game at the same speed and be trained on the same footage to judge what is and isn't a handball. Over time this will reduce variation in judgment and will lead to more enjoyment because the focus will be on the action on the pitch.

Liverpool made a nice profit for 2016/7 (net spend was close to 0 but made profits of almost 40m), will make a big profit for 17/18 (net spend again 0, but huge profits because of their CL run). Those profits will result in a breaking even when the loss in 18/19 is factored in (net spend so far is 150m), but their revenues have grown so much that it doesn't really matter. They're on such a stable footing financially compared to 5 years ago. If they weren't intent on winning things, they could easily coast to a Top 4 place this year and make huge profits once again. -

How much of Spurs' CapEx is stadium-related, though? Not that it matters since we've invested barely anything, but if you can't separate out Spurs' stadium-related CapEx then it's easy to rebut the criticism of our lack of spending by saying we're comparing apples to oranges. -
I also don't think he'll end up at a much bigger club because those teams all require pace up front. So the upside to Mitrovic in terms of price isn't much more than what we sold him for, but he could easily get enough goals to guarantee Fulham's survival and that'd make him worth it for them. He's not going to end up at Arsenal or Spurs, let alone Liverpool or Man Utd.

I've always liked him a lot because a player who gets chances will inevitably convert some. He missed a lot of chances but he was getting a lot of them, which would eventually be converted. You'd rather someone have loads of chances than someone who doesn't and Mitrovic always got chances whenever he played. He was a knucklehead because he was young. He joined us at 20, and now he's only 23. I accept that he would struggle in our team today because Benitez's tactics don't bring out the best in him, but Fulham have got a good player on their hands. He's great at holding the ball up, good with his feet and he runs all game. The only thing lacking in his game is pace and that's mitigated by Fulham playing a generally attacking style of football. I wish this thread wasn't bumped every time he plays well or scores, but that would only be the case if we had spent the money we got for him. Now it's almost inevitable that we will have to discuss his performances because we didn't get anything back for selling him except money in the bank. Mitrovic > money in the bank. I supported Benitez's decision to sell him because I thought we'd get a long-term replacement for him, which we didn't. It's not Rafa's fault but it does make the decision to sell him more questionable.

Positive from Murphy. -
I switched between him and Mane all day. Ended up with Mane. Thank fuck. Last week I switched off Aguero onto Alli. Disaster.
