i knew it was some time this week, didn't know it was 2moro though. Also just found out that the roadshow planned for this week has been postponed to a later date this month!
-
I've just seen that the NUST are having another roadshow this week, Thursday 12th, at the Strawberry starting at 7.30pm. With everything thats happened in the last week or so plus the Trust launching their plan to buy the club it could be a decent night and been in the town should attract a decent crowd although in saying that they haven't bothered advertising it yet! i only found out by stumbling across it on their forum on their website. I know that the NUST has plenty critics on here so maybe this is a chance to go and see what they're all about.

if i was a steward on £5 an hour the last thing i'd want to be doing is getting into a confrontation over a banner, i thought stewards were there for crowd control, surely removing banners isn't part of the job description!
-
i have no problem with the rapist banner, Ashley is raping our footbal club. next game it should be there again, ideally in the gallowgate end so its even more visable but change the words, don't need the fat cockney bit, how about a simple... MIKE ASHLEY - FOOTBALL CLUB RAPIST.
-
makes it all the better then if there playing well and still getting beaten!!!!
-
IN fairness to NUST the launch of there campaign and the announcement coming next week has been worked on and planned for weeks, its been a work in progress, as far as i understand the announcement that they will make next week was going to happen before Ashley announced the stadium idea. i may be wrong but don't think they could bring it forward.

fixed it for ya Preferred my version tbh! that could be the 2nd verse though!

will we all get white hankies to wave around to show our displeasure at the manager/players/board etc following bad performances!!
-
Think they just vote the president in and him and the board make the decisions. The electees set out a plan(who they will target, how much they will spend) and are voted in accordingly. Thats what we would have to do to make it work, fans use their votes to elect board/president for say 1, 2 or 3 yrs terms and the elected board etc are responsible for making the big decisions such as hiring/sacking managers.
-
yes i agree, fans won't/can't be asked to vote on everything. We will more than likely get votes to elect a board/president/chairman etc and maybe get a say in stuff like earlier mentioned kit suppliers etc. Does anybody on here have any idea how this type of set up works in barca and german clubs like Schalke who are supporter owned?
-
I don't have £2500 either but i reckon i could get my old man and a few of my mates who i got to the match with to put £250 in each and get a stake that way.

no such thing as NUSC anymore but if the NUST did somehow manage to buy the club the couldn't do a worse job than Ashley! Well it could, as without ashleys money we'd be in administration. Where are NUST gonna find 20m per season. No idea, maybe they will reveal that next week when they launch there bid to buy the club.

40m of our turnover was in the tv deal, attendances are down by 7000 how much the corperate sections been hit we don't know and no transfer anywhere is payed up front its all over a few years in instalments Apart from when Ashley decides to buy players then NUFC buy up front, we paid the full amounts up front for Nolan and taylor, despite letting Man city with all there money pay on tick for Given and for less than he's worth!
-
Great idea, personally i don't think it needs to be as high as 25%, even 10-12% would be a suitable stake for the trusts to have.
-
i've said it before but the stay away boycott/protest should happen if we get a 3rd round FA cup tie, even if its against Man U or the mackems! That is the game to boycott, season ticket holders haven't paid up front(well some have) for that game so that will cause the biggest impact.
-
Thats the point though, there's only been "one daft protest" as you put it, in which he re-acted with ok you win, i'll sell up and apparently put the club up for sale and the fans just sat back, went back to buying the drinks, the merchandise etc and he sat there laughing his cock off at us. The initial protest and boycotts should have been kept up and the pressure kept on the bastard to get out of the club. My own personal view is that he's never been selling the club, if he is/was desperate to get rid then it would be sold by now, in the time he's had the club on the market about half a dozen teams have changed hand, christ Pompey have been sold twice!! I'm not trying to tell you what to do i'm just shocked at the apathy and defeatist attitude among our fans.

spot on Blef, well said.

just a quick question for the 31% currently saying they won't protest as it won't make any difference. What will be the final straw then, if McDonalds are the company who approach AShley in the summer and say we'll sponsor the stadium and also the club but you'll have to change the strip to red and yellow stripes, to which Ashley agrees. Will that tip you over or will you just carry on regardless again? If he'll sell the rights to the ground he'll quite easily change the colour of the strip and that could easily be his next trick. Stop the bastard now before its too late.

. thats quite a good idea. easier to get the numbers and cause a bit disruption. it would mean them having to get the police in to clear the protestors. you'd probably get a lot of shoppers joining in too. easier to organize than a huge demo at SJP and would cause more problems. still should have a protest at stadium, but the ones at the stores would allow those not comfortable joining in at the match to vent their spleen. i was talking about this at work today, 500-1000 people walk into Sportsdirect at eldon square at midday on Sat afternoon and just sit down, block everything, tills, doors etc....no one can move in or out and nothing gets sold, then at 1pm everyone gets up and walks to SJP, join in any other protests, then goes to the match. I feel like interrupting the operations of a business is something that warrants the intervention of police forces. Not sure this a bright idea. maybe so, but they're not going to be able to arrest 100's of people especially if its peaceful and non aggressive protest and it would at least make it newsworthy and attract interest. The following week we could get the London supporters club to do the same at the london store!!

get out of our club get out of our club Newcastle United is in the wrong hands that is what we should be singing!
