I've been telling everyone that on here for the last year but people still don't believe it!! Could you gentlemen expand? Everything. Awful touch, awful positioning, no desire. Hmm, is this not his first game back? Give him a full pre-season I say, I don't think he's finished, the no desire is sad and totally expected in equal measures. His first game back? He should be one of the fittest players in the squad, like Taylor he was away playing in the summer Euros so fitness shouldn't be a problem, he should be ahead of the most of the squad. Simple fact is that he's just a woefully inept footballer, like Dan b said awful touch, poor positioning and no desire and as well as all that as weak as piss. Actually to be fair to the lad his touch is probably one of the best parts of his game but its still not good enough in the speed, hustle and bustle of the English game.

probably get slated but if Shola (and its a big IF) can get himself fully match fit and stay fit then he can do the business this season, if you can score goals in the champions league then you can surely score against CCC defences!!! Yeah he was informed he could start looking for another club, but he's still under got a year or so left of his pro deal with the Toon, so I guess they'll use him if it suits them. He's too small for the big leagues though and not much more to his game then being able to run really fast. Alan O'Brien MKII by the sound of things. O'Brien was a much better player.

Yes when we win, nothing worse than a having a great day out, then getting stuffed and travelling back for 3-4 hours mulling over another defeat, can't say i enjoyed the likes of Blackburn, Bolton and Villa last season yet until the kick off i was having a great time!!

more likely to go down than go up if we don't do it at the first time of asking. leeds, man city, charlton etc did it that way. i think you've got 2 seasons to get back up, then the parachute payments and your fucked, if we don't go up first time the pressure to get up 2nd time will be huge!! With the club in its current state i think its better we concentrate on not getting relegated again rather than winning the league!!!

i'm not going to deny we need new players but even without buying new players, we'd recoup enough money from the likes of Enrique, Colo, Bassong, Jonas and Martins to fill the gaps in the team you picked but even with your best line up put Tozer in alongside Taylor and replace Shola with Ranger and that team would hold its own in the CCC.

i wasn't saying that would be the team to get us out of the league, i'm saying we have them in the squad already, we don't need to buy 2 right backs if we already have Taylor & Tavernier for example. Obviously we need players but not 2 in every position.

Not denying the last sentance, as we are pretty fucked with the season fast approaching and no manager but can't see where your coming from with your squad analysis, worth rememebering we are now a championship side with not much money to spend, even with a takeover! 2 decent right backs? why? Ryan Taylor will do a ok job as a full back in the CCC and there will be young Tavernier pushing him as well, 2 left back? Tamas Kadar is better than any left back in the CCC, young reserves Lough & Ferguson are perfectly capable of covering should he be injured. Agree we need a new centre half, only one though don't need 2. Won't deny a creative midfielder is a must but we don't need 2 right wingers, we have Lua lua but will need another one and we will need a striker, preferably someone small and quick, Leroy Lita on a free could do a job.

Is he not at the U19 championships like Ranger? Not sure if his country actually got there btw, that might be why though? Lad i was playing golf with on sunday saw Shearer at the David Lloyd gym last week and Shearer told him he was getting pissed off at the delay, still wanted the job tho despite the delay(blowing the story in the Sun out the water) but hadn't heard anything from Ashley/Llambias for SIX weeks.........

Its Shola's destiny to get the shirt and finally become the player he's always shown to be on the training pitch!!! i think if we sign someone like Beckford then he'd get it, can't see a youngster like carroll or Ranger getting the shirt this season.
