  1. i can see Butt playing centre half for us at some point this season.......not sure if that will be good bad or horrific!
  2. just got back, was a cracking game but some shabby defending on show.....they were a decent team and Clarky has them playing some good football. Kadar looked a bit shaky and proved to me that he's a left back not a centre back, he may well turn into one but at this moment in time he's not ready for the physical challenge on playing central. Simpson also isn't a centre half. Ranger was quiet although felt a bit sorry for him in the first half as he was isolated upfront on his own and the service to him was poor, looked to tweak his hamstring halfway thru the 2nd half and then went down with cramp but played on till the end. Shola came on and changed the game while Jonas was very good when he came on, hopefully they only have minor knocks and will be ok for Leicester, at least they have a couple of extra days to recover as we don't play till Monday.
  3. Does Mark Jensen not sit next to his absolute tosspiece of a brother? Is he bald aswell? There was a guy in the row infront who he was talking to. This was in the Gallowgate btw. Mark's season ticket is in the middle tier of the leazes, sat a few seats along from me for years until i moved in the summer.

    RIP sale thread.

First thing I thought. f*** 'em, Moat in. First thing that came to my kind as well. Stump up the cash quickly or f*** off basically. The whole thing (welcome, if it was real) sounds very contrived, to me. Don't believe it. Llambiarse was publicising the deal with the Graham Roberts fans bid last week which turned out to be a storm in a tea cup. I hope this is different obviously, but it all seems a bit late to be going through due diligence at this stage. If they are making a bid, DD is done i think. "Geoff is dealing with Keith Harris and we are still waiting for proof of funds." Wasnt proof of funds necessary before access to the data room was granted? And as far as I understood that data room was quite important regarding due diligence? Those were the words of Llambias, the bloke has never spoken a word of truth since he's been here, not suprised he's now tripping himself up!! Ignore anything that twat says, its much easier!!

    Nile Ranger

its all about Nile in the Chronicle tonight!!
  6. agreed, with the exception of Kadar What you got against the likes of Kadar and Tozer? have you watched them regularly enough to "right them off"? No, would be the correct answer. He's seen Kadar twice apparently and didn't see the Leeds game. So he's basing it completely on his theory of how the Leeds game went. He assumes Kandol bullied them but in reality no one saw the goals and they could of all been tap ins. Kadar has been excellent on the occasions I've seen him and I'm more than confident he would hold his own in a home cup tie against Huddersfield. Tozer has been less impressive but he was signed based on his performances for a League 1 side and there was plenty of competition by all accounts. Again, in a home cup tie, it might be worth giving him a go. If not then, when are we going to play him? Kadar left back, with Tozer centre half. Coloccini with them as Taylor will surely not play. I'm sure Ronaldo will be delighted that the rock Coloccini is there to guide the kids through the game. Forgot about the Leeds reserve friendly i was thinking he meant the Leeds game at SJP!!
  7. agreed, with the exception of Kadar What you got against the likes of Kadar and Tozer? have you watched them regularly enough to "right them off"? Might not be Ronaldo's opinion but it seems a lot of faith in those 2 has gone out the window since that Leeds game. Bit sad really but not surprising. and people then wonder why young players don't get produced by this club....written off by a 45 min cameo in a pre season game!! having seen both of them on a regular basis i would have no qualms about kadar coming in, although as a left back not a centre half, think he's a better fullback plus less pressure but would be slightly worried about Tozer coming in, i know he was out injured for most of last season, coming back for the last few reserve games but hasn't exactly been on top form in the couple of games i've seen him this season. k

i find that a bit stange, think he may well have been called up on reputation, came through most England teams u16's 17's etc as a striker, Newcastle have moved him into a midfield player in the last 18 month, i don't think he's that good a player to be one of the best midfielders in the country.

  10. Will be quite happy to lose this game as we can do without extra games, think its the perfect game to give a few of the youngters a runout though. my team would be KRUL SIMPSON TOZER COLO or TAYLOR KADAR BARTON BUTT GUTHRIE LUALUA RANGER VUKCIC subs HARPER, SHOLA, DONALDSON, RAYLOR, NOLAN, BAHENG, XISCO

Same as me, i pitched up just before 11am at the Academy, just got to the pitch at Darlsey Park as we were picking the ball out of the net after Villa's first goal. We were always struggling after gifting them a 2nd when taylor slipped over but thought we were excellent in the 2nd half and could easily have turned the game round and won it.
  12. I almost backed Boro to win the league before the season started and still think they're the team to beat, bit like us in that they could lose some good players sold before the window shuts. They have players used to the CCC and are good at this level such as Adam Johnson.
  13. Leave him out again on Wednesday in the cup and he'll be right as rain for Leicester on bank holiday monday.

When is it, where is it, and how much? Ta and its free From nufc.co.uk Cheers mate! So to get there get off at Four Lanes metro station and walk down benton road turn right and walk for ages? No if you walk down Benton Road you'd end up at the training ground, the Academy is on Coach lane, come out of 4 lane ends metro, walk down benton lane, take the next right, walk down coach lane, you'll first pass a Uni football pitch on the left, then you'll come to some traffic lights, go past them, the next traffic lights turn left into a housing estate, nice big houses and that takes you to the academy. edit oops just seen that you already know to turn right off Benton road!lol

i'm thinking about it, not going to Palace and not golfing anymore so if its a nice day and i'm not too hungover i might pop along.
  16. i was told by John Gibson last night that he had travelled to talks with Everton last night, maybe something has happened, couldn't agree fee, personal terms etc and he's travelled back this morning but arrived too late for training!!
  17. Aye, but with Hughton it will be both. true although i wouldn't mind that much away from home but definately not in a home game. The way we are selling defenders we may well see either Butt or Smith playing at centre half in a couple of games time!
  18. Nicky Butt sitting as a holding midfielder will be fine in the CCC, unfortunately we don't need him sitting in alongside Smith as they'll pretty much do the same job. Its got to be one or the other.
  19. haven't read the full thread but i've just got back from Dudley club where i went to the NUSC roadshow, don't know what time this news broke but John Gibson said at about 9pm that Taylor had travelled down to Merseyside for talks, then laid into Llambias for having the audacity to go on radio and say there would be no more selling when he knew Taylor was heading for talks!!

What a brilliant crowd for a midweek championship league game......thats not even taking into account the club is managerless, owner wants away etc... Over 2000 more than Sunderland managed in the PL, thats the "new Sunderland" with big new signings, new manager and special kids for a quid season tickets playing against Chelsea, one of the best teams in Europe!!! hahahaha
  21. If Carroll is injured i can see Barton coming back into the side and Nolan pushing up to play off Shola.
  22. Don't think he's ready for a start quite yet. It'd be better to save that for Huddesfield than at home to Wednesday. yes i would agree forgot about that next week, thats also the game i'd give Ranger his chance as well.
  23. not sure Simpson should come in, we kept a clean sheet on saturday so why change it. If Barton is out give young Lua Lua a chance.
  24. There's a seating plan on .cock with a breakdown of capacity of all the stands. Should show you on there
  25. i was talking to the head steward who is in charge of the away end on level 7 on the way home on Saturday and he said they'd sold there full allocation of 2700, i don't know whether or not they've been given extra tickets tho since then.
