Should be kept, will do a good job in the CCC but is a victim of the chaos at the club, contract runs out at the end of the month and we haven't offered him a new one. I think he'd have stayed if we'd offered him a contract but you can't blame the lad for moving on, he has to look after his future and can't wait for NUFC to get sorted.

For some reason i have this sick feeling that Ashley's next stunt will be "blackmailing" the fans into renewing season tickets by bringing up the threat of putting the club into Administration if sufficient numbers don't renew. We have over 40000 season, if we were to lose half of them, we are already losing loads of the corparates, that would be probably around £10m lost on top of the TV money etc, with Ashley not putting anymore money in can the club keep going?
-
No way will be keeping Oba, Enrique ,Jonas and Barton. 1. We can't afford to keep them 2. They are 4 players who we can get off the wage bill AND get some money for, which will be needed to rebuild the team.

Can't believe there is 4 pages on this thread with people arguing that he should stay. When will people start to get it into there heads that we are now in the championship and even if players like Martins, Duff and Smith say they want to stop the simple fact is THEY CAN'T. It is impossible for the club to keep them, even if we want too. If these players are so in love with the club like they say, lets see there actions instead, drop your wages to £10k (even that is probably more than we can afford) and PROVE you want to stay cos you love the club and city.

top 4 go through automatically and 5th goes into the play off. Argentina are currently in 4th on 22 pts, Ecuador are now on 20 and if Uruguay win away at Venezuela later this morning then they'll also be on 20 points. Both Ecuador and Uruguay will be breathing down Argentina's neck.

we need a manager before we can think about signing players!!
-
Argentina are not certain to qualify and with Portugal looking like missing out, we may have a World cup without Messi & Ronaldo!
-
if they weren't taking taking home about £170,000 a week between them then i think those 3 could have done a decent job for us in the championship(can't believe i've just said that!). Add Beye's experience to those 3 and get some young hungry players then we could have a decent blend of youth and experience. Won't happen though so no point thinking about it.

how will the boo boys win if Xisco goes? we've had managers this season and NONE of them have played him! Surely that tells you everything you need to know, the lad is f***ing useless man. How can you tell if they never get a chance? Shola's great in training but inept in a match, some players just don't train well. i've seen enough of him in the reserve team to know he's not good enough. If one manager had left him out all season then you could say he was unlucky not be given a chance but 4 managers have ignored him, even when the team was short of goals. In saying that i hope he has a blinder in the Euro under 21's and scores loads of goals as then someone might come in and take him off our hands!! Has he not been scoring for the reserves? Yes he scored a few, couple of penalties and tap ins mainly, yes you could argue he was in the right place at the right time but his all round general play is poor.

wouldn't be gutted about any of them although would be slightly disappointed if Enrique went but wouldn't lose any sleep about it. As for the others i'd gladly help pack there bags.

beating Forest 5-1 on the last game of the season to qualify for the Champions league and the mackems and Boro both losing there games to get relegated!! What a class day that was!! :-D
-
Ferguson only came on in the 80th minute and i doubt if he had more than 3 touches!! can't see how he'd have made that good an impression!!

i think they should knock another £50 off the prices and ST holders get a free ticket for the 1st round of the Carling cup (if drawn at home)as a gogw. That would make it about £450 for seats in Gallowgate & Leazes, works out about £23 per match. Personally i think that would be decent value.

Is that really that big of an issue? Aside from the top four and their foreign imports, I'd not think that the average standard of reserve team youngster would be that different between Premiership and Championship teams. We will still have a reserve team but due to our relegation we won't be in the premier league north reserve league and in my opinion and also some other regular reserve watchers that i've spoken to will be a major handicap for the development of our younger players. I know some managers like Benitez have complained about the system but i think it works pretty well, you've the under 18 academy league, then the players move up into the reserve league which is a but like a unofficial under 20 league and they then move out on loan for more experience and then hopefully break into the first team.

how do you work that one out?
-
Could make us a hell of a lot more attractive. I'm inclined to think he'll take what he can get especially with wages running so high (money that has to be found every month) till they are shifted. Might not be so easy to shift either. Aye, the wages until Owen/Viduka/Cacapa/etc f*** off are just dead money now the season is over. The quicker he gets out the better for him. If you think about it (assuming Owen is on £105,000 a week as many papers and FM document) then from the final day on May 24th, Owen will make £525,000, over half a million, from simply going into training for a couple of days and then sunning it and watching racehorses, in 5 weeks. There will probably be some excessive loyalty bonus for him seeing out his contract too. He should be made to work by NUFC until his contract expires in my opinion. what do you want him to do like? work in the ticket office sorting the season ticket renewels out?

if any sale takes over 2 weeks then i think we are in big trouble, we are already having one of the shortest pre seasons ever, plans for next season should already be in place. We have an owner wanting out and no manager and the players report back in 4 weeks.

Like a supporters panel? Is that a kind of dig at the current supports panel or NUSC? The supporters panel that was set up had to be done under the premier league charter and was basically a talking shop, nothing really happened and it has/had no power, i would be amazed if the points that were raised in the early meetings even got back to llambias and very much doubt they got back to Ashley. It was only the last couple when Llambias thought making contact with supporters might be a good idea that he went along.

just found this on there website....they released a statement last wednesday. Press Release - 27 May 2009 Like all fans we are bitterly disappointed that despite our support for the team never wavering, the end result of 38 games has seen us relegated from the premier league. We believe that the blame for this relegation lies firmly at the feet of the current and previous owners of the club. Owners whose mismanagement has brought this club down from a position of strength, from European and champions league football to a situation that sees us win only 7 games in a full season and lose our premiership status. Mike Ashley is currently in the hot seat and it is his responsibility to make the correct decisions that will take the club forward again. Importantly, the Supporters Club is to move to Supporter Trust status, and if the situation that has embroiled this club since the start of the season were not bad enough, the outcome of the weekend further demonstrates the need to have a representative voice for the fans and ultimately to have a say in the running of the club. Supporters of Newcastle United know what is wrong with the club and what needs to be put right. We should be given the opportunity to have a voice that the owner of NUFC will listen to and work with to ensure that our club is not de-stabilised further.

They've been doing roadshows, going out and about as people can't always get into Newcastle for meetings etc, think they're in Blyth this week, they've also got a comedy night on at the Irish centre in a couple of weeks with Gavin Webster & simon Donald(no doubt someone on here will make a wise crack about them been a comedy club! ). so i'll get in first.... I know that apart from backing that Altogether campaign that the chronicle were going with they were keeping a lowish profile while we were trying to stop up although i also think they'll have been working on getting the supporters trust set up, personally i love the trust to be set up in time to coincide with the new ownership and the trust somehow getting involved. I fully expect statements, some type of action, another open meeting in the coming weeks now the season has ended and the Ashley news this weekend.
