No, I want Newcastle to be successful and the way I see that happening, sooner rather than later, is with Howe. He's already been successful here, so I'm surprised there isn't more support around here for him. People either have short memories or have taken what he has done for granted. We won't be going nowhere fast with a de Zerbi, Southgate, coming through the door. Would set us back literally years. Just like Spurs and Poch.
-
Your post was ridiculous. I think he does get a better job after us. Proven, hardworking, intelligent, trophy winning manager, with no compensation to pay. Track record of improving players. Would sound attractive to most decision makers. I'm not surprised it doesn't to you considering your last post.
-
No, it is. We only hear about the ones which doesn't work, to form the narrative that Howe cant be allowed to have 'his players' anymore.
-
No one prefers his style of football. He's constantly whinging about scheduling, a lack of squad depth and teams doing low-block defenses. Liverpool fans think he's a fraud. And if you think Howes signings haven't worked look at how he's done with Wirtz, Kirkez, Frimong and Isak. Signed all of them yet 28 points off the top despite winning the league last year. He will be sacked soon enough.
-
It's usually the opposite. He gets slammed for the one or two that hasn't worked. But no credit for the ones that do. Not to mention that Wissa was proven goal scorer. And we tried to sign everyone else available before Woltemade.
-
This can't be a real post. Beyond daft if so.
-
People were saying Howe wouldn't be considered for a vacant Liverpool post. But that argument fell down short considering they appointed Slot.
-
Do you not follow the results? You don't seem to know a lot about football. You also thought we didn't qualify for the next round of the CL..
-
He had won next to nothing before Liverpool.
-
It's not naive. It's just having a realistic approach to it, we are very likely to regret the decision. If you are able to believe that Howe was hindered massively by the summer and let down by the people above him. Then you can admit that this season there has been some huge mitigating factors to explain the poor results. The big mistakes happened last summer when were no DoF in place and losing Isak.
-
We get further than the QF next time? With a squad and budget that is bigger and better than this seasons. Just need to be able to emotionally handle the ups and downs of supporting a team.
-
Jeez what nonsense, in my lifetime I have seen Brendan Rogers, Hodgson, Dalglish and now Arne Slot get the Liverpool job. An intelligent, young, hardworking, trophy winning manager is more than capable to be considered like. Daft to suggest otherwise.
-
That's kinda weird. It will just be a grave mistake if we were to get rid of him. Why wouldn't we let the best manager we have ever had a chance to rectify a poor campaign? Just why not. There is no guarantee that a replacement is any better or more capable. And what makes you think PIF are interested enough to find the best guy now? Spurs have never recovered from sacking Poch. Spurs fans would kill to have him back right now. Careful what you wish for and all that yada yada.
-
But the fact that he's bounced back and has rebuilt this squad once before, even winning a cup just last year Should be enough reassurance that we have the right man for the job, there should be enough credit in the bank. Especially when consider what happened in the summer.
-
Howe would get a bigger job than us. If he were to leave now or the summer.
-
They appointed Slot. Who won a farmers league before he joined them. Anyone of our CL games against PSG, the best team in Europe at the moment, would demonstrate that he's more than capable of tactically going toe to toe with the best around, on the biggest stage.
-
Fuck, Carrick isn't going to get the job is he.
-
When people mocked the DCL signing (I was one of them) he would be really useful right now. Always in the right areas, and a shit house.
-
Yes I know, I expected it too. First half was reassuring and were playing some really good stuff at the end of it. Second half, terrible. Needs to work on whatever is going wrong with this pattern.
-
We literally have though, when we went through a very, very bad patch in the first season of champions League football, as soon as we returned to one game a week and players returned from injury, and able to actually train again. Our form totally transformed and looked bad to our best. Fully expect that to return in some form for the remainder of the season. And if it doesn't, he still deserves the summer to freshen up this team.
-
If we ever win the league and start the following season slowly. God help us.
-
Considering he has come back each and every time there has been a setback. Yes he is.
-
See the positives in going toe to toe with a quality team for 3 halves of football, before our legs fell off. Or pride seeing us lift a bit of silverware just over 12 months ago, something which is unheard of.
-
Resorting to this kind of post is summing where your argument is at right now
-
If we hound him out, I wouldn't begrudge him going anywhere except Sunderland.
