    Hatem Ben Arfa

He could not have done anymore. Hope we sort out a new contract soon.
  2. Hope we can sign one or two Gouffran-like players in January. We will certainly be an attractive proposition due to our league position if Ashley is persuaded to prise open his wallet.
  3. Even if we lose to Arsenal we will have 33 points after 19 games. Replicate the same form in the second half of the season and we could better the 65 points when we finished 5th. After the mackem defeat this really has been some turnaround.
  4. His goal came at a great time - one of our most important players imo.

Thought he was brilliant and had better play against The Arse!
  6. Awful until Stoke imploded then it was great fun to watch. Two relaxing wins in a row too.
  7. After all the coverage it will be interesting to see how good Erik Pieters actually is. Seems pretty average so far.
  8. “We are keeping our powder dry,” Pardew said of his January transfer plans. “Really, we don’t want to see anybody move out. We are pretty strong on that point and we have room if we are not. We are poised to make a move if it works for us.” The expression immortalised by Shepherd = we will spend nowt.
  9. £22m is a lot but we could weasel more out of PSG if necessary. Prefer not to sell him while we are doing so well and who would we buy to replace him?
  10. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 42m Alan Pardew: 'I do not fear a Yohan departure. I know he is a fantastic footballer and that he can still improve.' #NUFC #PSG
  11. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/pardew-s-message-to-psg-and-arsenal-target-cabaye-1-6335368 Pardew’s message to PSG and Arsenal target Cabaye ALAN Pardew says he’s confident Yohan Cabaye will stay with Newcastle United – despite speculation that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to bid for the midfielder. Cabaye – who scored in Newcastle’s Premier League away wins at Crystal Palace and Manchester United – has hit form for Pardew’s team in recent weeks. And the 27-year-old – who tried to force through a move to Arsenal in the summer – has insisted he is now fully committed to the club, which is sixth in the table ahead of the Boxing Day home game against Stoke City. However, the influential French sports newspaper L’Equipe has reported that PSG will bid for Cabaye in next month’s transfer window. For his part, United manager Pardew is confident the France international – who wouldn’t have been guaranteed a start at Arsenal – is at the right cup in the build up to next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil. “I don’t fear losing Yohan,” said Pardew today. “What I know is that he is a fantastic footballer, and I think he’s improving. “He’s in an environment where he has got pole position in my team. “That’s nice for a player like him. You don’t always get that. You can get lost at other clubs.” Cabaye joined Newcastle from Lille – where he won the French double – in the summer of 2011.
  12. £25m and up and you would think the Fat Controller would say Yes. Good money clearly but nee good if we don't reinvest.
  13. We will obviously try to rob them blind if they are keen to buy. Will probably get dragged out too so Ashley can get every last Euro.
  14. Got 7 league goals (7 more than Shola) but I also think we can do better. But he will be cheap and that will appeal to Ashley - especially as we will get him at a discount when compared to the Summer. Loads of teams need strikers though so we had better decide soon or he will be off somewhere else.
  15. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article/Psg-cabaye-la-priorite-de-laurent-blanc/6906 Cabaye wanted by PSG. Believe this considering the flirting from Blanc in August.

Although a nut case and a crap manager, Di Canio is good value!

Fletcher is injury prone but probably their best player imo. Very sensible decision to speed up relegation! Then again Hippo Heed might be stuck with two crocks in Carroll and Fletcher meaning they might go down too! All very amusing watching from our lofty position!
  18. I think this thread is going to be busy in the next few weeks!
  19. It is going to be a hell of a lot easier to attract good players with our current league position if Fatso gets his hand in his pocket!
  20. He has a massive chance to kick on but we all know what he is like - penny wise, pound foolish.
  21. De Jong and Ince would do me although it is more likely we will get sweet FA!
