Gouffran is an interesting signing. Same age as Remy, probably as fast and scored way more than him this season. Not saying he is better but we have got ourselves a great deal for the price.
-
Totally agree. Despite all of these great signings losing Colo as well as Ba would be a real sickener.
-
Anita has 8.
-
Yeah Fair enough - I guess that would be asking too much of Ashley if the other signings come off.

http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=377928 Portuguese press linking us with Ricky van Wolfwinkel. Has this one been mentioned yet?
-
Excellent news this with the two defenders also looking likely. Just need a replacement for Ba and Colo to hang around until the Summer.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfer-targets-moussa-sissoko-1548386 Seems like a lot of stabbing in the dark!

Paul McIntosh@mcintoshpaul "Newcastle are making it difficult to reach a conclusion. They don't want to release him now because they are fighting relegation." #NUFC I guess this is about Colo. We really need to keep him until the Summer.
-
I hope we can get all of the signings in quickly so they can train with the squad for Villa. What a massive game that is going to be.....
-
He totally does. "Masa" is a common boys name and "Haidara" is a war cry (lived there for 10 years).
-
One down, three to go!
-
It's not real!
-
Saw him on that video channel which can't be mentioned. Looks quick and has a cracking left foot.
-
It might be Yanga-Mbiwa, Gouffran, Thauvin and Haidara if that article is anything to go by. Would like Sissoko too but maybe that's being greedy! Really hope Colo stays or I fear these signings (if they come off) may not make too much difference.
-
Change our name to Chateau Nouveau?
-
Not worried yet. But if he buggers off to Arsenal it will be another massive blow.
-
Apparently having a good season and probably as quick as Obertan with a lot more composure. Not a scorer like Ba though.

Football Facts@FootballFacts1 Newcastle United's Mike Williamson has made the most defensive clearances per game (14.4) in Europes top 5 Leagues this season. #NUFC
-
Looks like he is going. Not many clubs lose their best defender and best forward and do well. Hope the replacements are good...
-
If he's off we will get Mbiwa and Williamson instead of Colo and Williamson. We will need two CBs due to Taylor's unreliability but I very much doubt that is going to happen.

The Future of Haidara. Still unclear January 20, 2013 By GFN_France Massadio Haidara: The U21 French international has been the stand out performer in Nancy’s faltering side so far this season. This has caused interest from many clubs around Europe. Nancy’s vice president has admitted a transfer is likely and that the player would be open to a move: “Today we are in contact with five English clubs…….We think a deal should be finalised soon. Massadio Haidara is our greatest asset. He’s been playing in Ligue 1 for two seasons now and would like to play in England.” Newcastle, Tottenham and Everton are all strongly linked with the player, as well as Fiorentina and Roma from Italy. Haidara came close to a move to Aston Villa last summer, but the move broke down when manager Alex McLeish was sacked. The 20 year old likes to get forward and is a good dribbler of the ball. He is weak in the air however. Haidara is a good raw talent, who we are sure you will hear more about in the future. On the 15th January 2013, it was confirmed that Newcastle had made an offer of around 2.5 million euros, but the player was more interested in a move to Roma: “I’d love to play in Italy, though Newcastle are also a good team. I know that my agent has spoken to both clubs, we’ll see what happens. As far as I am concerned, I’d love to play in Italy.” The player once again changed his view and after initially accepting a bid from Newcastle, Nancy rejected it, as a better bid supposedly came in from West Ham. Other teams such as AC Milan and Roma were said to be lining up a move. Nancy’s president has confirmed, however, that the player is on his way to England, to either West Ham or Newcastle. On the 20th, our sources began reporting that Newcastle had agreed a fee with the player and he was on his was to Tyneside, although this is still unconfirmed. We shall wait and see, but it seems unlikely that Haidara will be a Nancy player by the end of the market.

Will be QP-f***ing-R I bet. Ffs. Left out by Rennes. Probably QPR.
-
Gouffran would seem to tick the boxes - fast, versatile, French and should be relatively inexpensive due to contract ending in the Summer.

steve wraith@stevewraith Did anyone hear an interview with Benitez saying Ba isn't training with the 1st team as he has a bad knee? #nufc

Just Twitter talk - no quotes or anything. Still looks like we are in pole position if he is daft enough to come.
