Appreciating the efforts of the players and staff is completely different to celebrating 2nd place with a ridiculous trophy.
Of course. There are people saying that they'll be off at the final whistle if we get the trinket. I'm suggesting we might ignore it and give the players and manager some appreciation. Seems simple enough to me
It's well worth hanging around for 5 mins to show appreciation for the efforts of players and manager during a ball breakingly tough season. To allow that to be derailed by some sense of footballing snobbery seems churlish.
was it clear cut?
Couldn't really tell from highlights. Just incredible it was spotted when ball was in a neighbouring postcode
Clearly the linesman give the decision.
Quite. But it doesn't happen very often in that situation, non?
Whilst all the above may be true, we are playing a team winless in 3 away from home and 12 league points adrift of us, whilst we have won our last 2 at home. I think we may be being a little pessimistic.
How I'm looking at it (and i know this is obvs) is that we need 8 PTS (either us to gain or Hudds to drop). There are 11 opportunities for us to work towards it. I'll be astounded if it doesn't happen.
