Pasted together the Squawka passing stats for Janmaat last season compared with a few of the other notable RBs - some in the PL, Aurier who everyone loves, and the La Liga boys. Obviously so much of this stuff depends on other players, tactics, etc but it's worth a look.

The Chronicle's Newcastle Transfer Rumour Rater is pitiful and embarrassing.

People who get excited about a transfer fee in either direction astound me.

It's not as if you get a refund on your season ticket if the fee for an outgoing player is huge. And it's certainly not as if that money gets reinvested at a 100% rate (we're lucky if it's a 5% rate). So who gives a shit if you get 8m or 80m? We're losing another quality player and replacing him with no one -- and that holds true until we see Aurier or Janmaat or fucking Jenkinson holding up a shirt.

Considering it only took a solid 3 years of monitoring to get Siem in, we'll have a cracking replacement in time for the 2017-18 campaign. Not sure what league we'll be in, of course.
