We haven't even played anyone half decent yet, couldn't have asked for a gentler start. Fulham, Huddersfield, Reading. f*** me, we barely even look like we have a goal in us never mind a win. Disastrous and there are no excuses, we've brought players in but still desperately need width, creativity and forwards who know how to put the f***ing ball in the net. Oh and stop f***ing conceding seconds before half time you switched-off arseholes.

Brendan Galloway joins new club - West Bromwich Albion
LionOfGosforth replied to Dave's topic in Football
Don't know a thing about him but signing a LB (hopefully a competent one) and not having to play square pegs like Dummett in that position has to be very good news. -
Hull must be desperate to watch like

This the one you mean ? http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10523288/benitez-targets-promotion Love listening to this man, so professional and calm. Funny thing is though, he has a way of speaking without ever really saying anything much at all. Just things like "we must be confident and patient, and do the things we want" etc. Every interview is a masterclass in serenity, confidence and giving away absolutely nothing, you just trust the man 100%.

Similar to Llorente moving to Real Sociedad... It was an observation, not once stated as fact man. Get a grip. Llorente: http://en.as.com/en/2016/07/26/football/1469548066_881126.html, http://www.marca.com/futbol/real-sociedad/2016/07/25/5796022246163f1d458b45d0.html, http://www.espnfc.co.uk/real-sociedad/story/2918912/real-sociedad-set-to-sign-fernando-llorente-from-sevilla-sources Your observation/assumption was that Moussa likely hasn't turned up for training when he obviously has. Our own manager said so. Figures aint winning this one, pick your battles mate

Rafa rotates and is known to always be trying to keep players fresh. He'll play a fair bit i'm guessing but maybe not always CB. I'd rather have cover and options (however poor they may be perceived to be) than be scrambling in January because we didn't plan adequately in the first place.
-
Yep, don't understand the minor fuss around this. He can play a few positions so is versatile and provides reasonable cover because we're building a squaaad to withstand potentially 50+ games. That's it, no big mystery.

Looks great in theory but am I the only one that thinks that 3 behind the CF looks skilful but a bit "lightweight" and liable to get bossed around by some of the more cynical c*** defenders down there? Worrying about nowt? We bossed the league with Routledge, Nolan, Smith, and Jonas. If you want to take out Perez and throw in Shelvey, Hayden, Anita, or Colback next to Diame and Sissoko that still keeps us solid. I like the idea of Hayden in that central 2, looks like he likes a tackle and is athletic enough to get around. I think we can all relax a bit once a few games have been played and we can get a feel for how it will be. Think it'll be more of a grind than last time but we should still be up there.

Nobody cares what those spackas think man, he was signed for depth and versatility, that's it. It's not like he's our only signing and we're pinning all our hopes on him

Aye Melbourne to fucking Huddersfield poor sod

Bit surprised we weren't in for McCormack, not like we couldn't afford him. Basically guarantees goals at this level. After Gayle who I think will do well, not sure about our main striker options, Mitrovic suspended for 4 and not proven (at any level really), Armstrong still seems to be a year or two away. I hope Gayle hits the ground running.
-
Nowt wrong with having or aspiring to have a quality specialist LB. We may have several options but they're mostly a bit s*** like. More pressing is a winger and another forward proven to get goals at this level. A central player who can create would be nice but we do have plenty in the middle and maybe it's more about finding the right blend of players in there rather than needing another. We get those 2 (winger and forward) in we can look forward to a good season. Edit to add - forgot about Mbabu completely, I like him and think he might have what it takes.

Missed it, what was the gist?

Instead of having all these barely-educated simpletons phone in and stumble around, why not compile a list of intelligent questions submitted in advance and ask the bloke on air for answers to them, cut all the simpering and bollocks out and we might actually have something worth listening to. f*** me man.

Same, hasty deletion of my message, sneaky Ron

Couldn't they find someone who doesn't look like Lurch to drive these cunts around?

Not a big fan of either of the centre halves we've signed to be honest but it's reasonable (for the level we're competing at) quality depth we haven't had in years, if Rafa sees something in these players, let's give them all the benefit of the doubt for at least a year Aye. I mean I agree with people that Rafa's transfer record isn't perfect, but I trust him to have a quality functioning side come the start of the season, even if everyone is not a hit. We're selling players who don't want to be here anymore for decent fees and using this dosh to actually build a squad that can withstand 50+ games. Regardless of the perceived quality of some individuals, there's method in any apparent madness
