Guehi has had a canny tournament to be fair

Southgate has the look of a man completely confused as to why it's not working. It's why everyone knew all he'd do is replace Trent with Gallagher and hey presto, thought that would make a difference. The game has evolved quite a bit tactically since just playing rigid 4-2-3-1 worked for most and you could just shove 2 DMs into the team and it functioned. The structure of this team is all wrong, lopsided, lacking balance and confidence. Players look like they're being told to be safety-first and not try anything too risky.

Garbage. Grow some balls man. Gordon left, Foden at 10, Bellingham in midfield (or bring on Wharton who can pass better than Gallagher). Maybe a bit of pace up top. Have a fucking go man, Christ.

My overarching point was, Gallagher was an obvious change he would make, but at least one or two more would have made an actual difference. Instead, it's just a re-run of the 2 previous game. Low creativity, poor passing, vulnerable as fuck despite two dms. Gallagher is a shite DM by the way, just has a more basic idea of how to be a midfielder than Trent, which was a baffling experiment that he persisted with.

We have a sprinkling of players who have legitimately been some of the best in their countries and respective positions, in the season just finished, Foden, Bellingham, Kane (arguably), Rice. You wouldn't believe it watching them in this tournament, they're like ghosts.

I don't understand Foden's role at all

So static in the main, just moving a few yards here or there then passing sideways and backwards, overhitting passes. Look bereft of confidence.

Was there really any need for Kane to bullet the ball 50 yards into the far corner instead of a simple pass. Feel like we're just going backwards and sideways across the pitch with no penetration or idea of how to break their lines.

France are useless

Spain playing basically their second string and they're still top quality, best team in the competition

Austria and Albania have been great value as well

France are always over-hyped, this is such a typical Deschamps era France performance. Flashes and not much more.

If only Holland had a Kluivert or even a Huntelaar up top, they'd carry so much more threat

He's explosively quick like a few of their players but very little football IQ. Their best players are Kante and Griezmann by a landslide.
