English teams make these games boring. It's the only way to contain Barca and have a chance. -

Sort of player that wouldn't have made it through a UK football academy for being too slight to play professional football.. -

Been very quiet tonight tbh. Rooney has done much more (not that that's a lot anyway) dont agree, ronaldo's done well when on the ball but has been really isolated, rooney has been invisible Agreed, started off well, but seems to not be involved much lately.. Man U need to get him involved more if they want a chance to win this. You could argue Barca is defending well to contain him though.. -

Lovely pressure from Barcelona, and equally cool passing it around under pressure from Man U a minute ago. -

I'm with you on this one. Would love him to prove me wrong, but I haven't seen too much to suggest he will become a great manager. Apart from the motivation perspective, I also worry about his tactical credentials. His experimenting with tactics in his early games (playing 3 at the back) may well have cost us the point we needed, and lately he has played a flat 4-4-2 without anything coming from the wings and with defenders just aimlessly hoofing the ball forward; all in all not too dissimilar to the way Fat Sam had us "playing". He is clearly trying to find out what kind of manager he wants to be, but I don't expect him to be very creative about it, so it may well not be easy on the eye... A great player doesn't necessarily make a great manager... -
I certainly hope so. I'm not sure how Fat Mike will be able to redeem himself from here. Investing a lot of dosh now just doesn't make any sense, as it's an admission of a huge mistake in not doing it when it mattered. If he stays, I can see him preparing financially for life in the lower divisions (i.e. use the parachute payments to dampen the huge wages for the next two seasons (is it?)) and with his choices of personnel we will be down there for a long, long time. Our best hope now is that he sells at a knock down price to a serious investor who will finance a raid for a quick return to the Prem. I have lost all faith in the man himself doing what is right for this club. To think we were all happy as larry barely two years ago when he took us over. There was so much promise. I was sceptical about his intentions due to a lack of communication, but this is way beyond my wildest fears. It has to be said it is one achievement to buy a club with the potential to be in the top 6 and have it relegated within two seasons (although we were quite close to the drop last season before Keegan was appointed).
