Some teams manage to stay up through a crazy combination of good scoutuing and management over huge expenditure, the biggest problem regarding money will be those fans who expect an assault on the top 6 to come quickly. You have to assume Mort(if it is him) has finances above the purchase price otherwise Barclays will never sanction the overdraft given its not a guarantee we will go straight back up. Unlikely..

Cracking journalism: "I won't wait forever" is the one thing he doesn't say in that interview.

yep, betfair has it too. Cheers. Which one is best? I'm not that clued up on betting and the like so don't know what's the best out of bet365 and and betfair. But just to let you know - I joined bet365 so I could watch the Seria A matches and I had to put a minimum of £5 in my account just to register. That's there to bet with though of course. Ta, will join bet365.

He would be a starter for almost every club in the Dutch Eredivisie, and therein lies the problem. I can't see him wanting to stick around as our reserve goalkeeper for 2 or 3 more years if the likes of PSV or Feyenoord come knocking.

Because this is exactly the thought process that landed us with Roeder as manager. We are comfortably stronger than most of the teams in this league and Hughton is doing a competent job at getting us the results we should expect tbh. Things would change quickly if he had some difficult personnel issues to sought out. He's not a manager but is proving to be an excellent coach who's done a great job in the short term, as Roeder did in the past. But don't be fooled, he hasn't got the backbone to do this gig for a sustained period of time. roeder was one of our better managers in recent times Would you have him back then?

One or two bad results/decisions and the people who are now suggesting to keep things as they are will be on his back.

Heh? Our squad was tiny already, and now it's wafer thin.. I expected us to shift a lot of the high earners and replace them with cheaper players with potential from the lower leagues. The first has happened, the second hasn't. Don't let the results so far foul you, the ridiculous squad size may well prevent us from mounting a serious promotion fight this year..

I find it unbelievable that a number of good results in a lower division has pacified the masses and lured so many in a false sense of security we will be back up without a sweat next year. I'm more angry with Ashley now than I was before the end of last season. He has done nothing to prepare us for the season ahead, and don't fool yourselves: there is absolutely no guarantee that we will bounce straight back up. These recent results have been accomplished despite Ashley, not partly thanks to him. Our squad has weakened beyond believe, we have no new players (Loven was here last season) and our squad is extremely weak in numbers. If we do get promoted under these circumstances we will be very, very lucky, and running a business well has nothing to do with gambling to the extent we seem to be doing. Ashley has made another mess of the club sale and we are still without a qualified, respectable manager (again, just because we have some good results doesn't mean he is now a good manager all of a sudden - it WILL go wrong). Instead of forcing Ashley out we still continue to show up and pay up. What signal are we sending out by doing this? I worry for the future of this club if a takeover does not happen soon.

Finally some good news!
