Hehe, Sunlun should have scored a couple in the second half already, but still 1/0 down.

No problem. I love how his eyes light up when Newcastle gets mentioned and how he looks all depressed when England get mentioned. Looking at that interview again there's a lot of signs he would jump at another chance to manage us even though he literally says he will never manage another club. I think his presentation as NUFC manager will be very reminescent of his first interview, where there is no other club that could have dragged him out of semi-retirement, but he just can't help himself when Newcastle United is concerned..

Source? It's in his interview bout 2 or 3 months ago with that lass He hadn't been to a stadium, didn't say he hadn't watched any football on the tely.. Hope thats the case. If he's out of the loop as much as I fear, my enthusiasm would be severely dented. Check for yourself. Search for Inside Sports Interview Keegan in that famous video site.. Good interview!

The poll result says it all. Nearly 80% of the respondents are happy. I don't think any appointment besides Mourinho could have bettered that..

It just occurred to me how important the timing aspect has been in having Keegan back exciting us all. How many of us would have been pleased if Keegan had been announced as the new manager immediately after the Allardyce sacking? Not too many I suspect. We've had a close shave of disaster with Redknap turning us down which has lowered our expectations about bringing in a top, top manager and has made people reflect on things and decide that we'd rather take a chance on somebody we love than take a gamble on somebody we don't know that well, like we've done with our last three managers. All in all I don't think Ashley and Mort have handled this very well and I very much doubt this is what they had in mind but I salute them for the boldness of their move; it just might work and if it does the Geordie people will be eternally grateful. If it fails (which is more likely tbh) they will not have lost an awful lot as we will not be much worse of than we are now (presuming we don't go down of course)..

(holds a shitty hand at the WSOP final table) "I'm all in." Loving it!

Just been watching the Inside Sport interview in which he comments on never going back to management, but it is very clear he has a huge soft spot for Newcastle and I think he would come back when asked (search for `Kevin Keegan: Inside Sport Interview (15/10/07)` on youtube). I would love to see Keegan as manager with Shearer as assistent, and if it works for the roles to be reversed in two or three years time before Keegan bows out.. Stuff dreams are made off..

New poll since everyone voted for mourinho and its never going to happen!!

Where´s Van Gaal? Since Mourinho and Lippi seem unlikely out of the remaining options I think a Shearer/Keegan combo is the most appealing option. If it works everybody´s a winner, if it fails we will at least be able to move on.. -
The books and articles you read suggested Allardyce's methods would be somewhat of a guaranteed success though, didn't they?

His team have just lost 6-1 to Ajax... Hmmm..

FFF president 'reassured' Houllier not moving to Tyneside

The names dropped in that article don't seem to be quotes by their source, so it may just be the journo's opinion or guess. All the source seems to have said is they will take their time to get it right, which we're all too familiar with.. -
The poll about how many goals Man U will score against us is still open, embarassingly..

AZ is actually pretty rich club with high ambitions, I heard that they were really close to signing Afonso Alves with very high fee, but he wants to join some Premiership club. In comparison to other Dutch clubs AZ is pretty rich, but they are practically out of the running to win this year´s title and they´re already out of Europe, so it will be another one and a half year at least until he wins a major trophy with them. He may well feel the wheels have come off and could be tempted by another challenge, especially one involving a better competition (although he doesn´t normally speak highly of English football in interviews) and significantly more money. So he'd doing kinda s***, so we should bring him in off reputation.... Is that the way you would feel about Mourinho too?

I can see us getting relegated, or would that be a kneejerk?
