Exactly, he played there constantly for Hoffenheim besides it wasn't anything like half a season it was 5-6 games. It isn't anything like the same. Also people seem to be ignoring the fact Cisse isn't a 6 month wonder, he's been scoring goals his whole career and offers a lot more to the team than either Bent or Defoe. This whole conversation is full of Cisse isn't suddenly a bad player he's just suffering at the hands of Pardew like every one else. Allright sunshine, what did Pardew do wrong this time? Is this not the system you were clamouring for for months, the one you claimed would see Cisse back to top form in no time?

Demba Ba could at least legitimately claim he was played out of position for that half a season, not just a couple of matches. I don't know what's offensive about likening Cisse to Defoe or Bent either. You'd think Papiss was Messi reincarnated based on some of the reactions on here tonight FFS But what about the chances he was missing? He did miss chances and was rightly criticised for it. I keep reading these votes of confidence, and people expected Cisse to pick it up after Ba left, but it hasn't really happened for him so far, has it? I predicted him to score 20-25 earlier in that poll, now I'd be ecstatic if he gets half that. He's scored three times in the last couple of weeks. He's still off the form of last season, but that was ridiculous form to be honest. 20-25 Premier League goals would have probably seen us challenging for the title btw, it happens that rarely. He's scored three in the last couple of weeks, which isn't bad in all fairness, but he could have had many more if he had taken his chances at a rate you'd expect a top striker to get. I think Rich posted some chance conversion stats a couple of weeks back (don't know where he got them from), and Cisse was way behind other top strikers in the league this season. With all the chances spurned recently I don't think that stat will have got much better. Maybe I'm being a little harsh on wor Papiss, but my prediction was based on my conviction that he is a top striker, as his record for us last season and in Germany the seasons before seems to suggest. As I hold him in high esteem, I also judge him as such, and in my mind he is falling way behind the level I expect him to operate at. As for 20-25 Premiership goals being that unrealistic, last season we were one good result from CL qualification, and we had two forwards seemingly capable of 20-25 goals for the season. The main strikers in the current top 6 are well on their way to scoring around 20. Also, many people on here want us to play a system with one forward. We can't get away from the fact that this sole striker will need to get around 20 goals a season for the team to have a good season. I really don't think it's that preposterous a suggestion.

Being lethal in the box would be a start Would be good if wasn't instructed to be on the half way line instead of in the box..... he's hardly ever in the box because of Pardew tbh. Rubbish. Which striker ever stays in the box all game long? Cisse would just be offside even more than he is already..
