Exactly. Why not? He's at an age where he could think "f*** this, I don't need this s***" and take up playing golf. If he wanted to be in football I'm sure there would be a host of Premiership clubs willing to take him on board, where his opinion is respected. His job hasnt changed and as far as we know it wont either. He is still chief scout, he will still do the scouting and he will still hand his findings/recommendations to someone at the club to decide if they will buy them. Only difference its now a bloke he has known for decades(apparently)instead of Pardew. Theres nothing to suggest he would want to quit aside from people speculating without a clue whats actually going on. We know for a fact an utter loon of a man will second guess his every recommendation. I'd say it changes the landscape quite significantly.

Really he can't do three jobs, people are going over the top with conjectures. First they say JFK will be the new manager, or he is the DOF or now he will also be the managing director. Come on. He will be the new manager. The DoF role was invented to reintroduce him to the club, no need for it to persist once he's got his dirty hands on the manager job. He called himself a football manager in the TS interview too. As for the MD role, God knows who we'll get. Probably Dennis fucking Wise.

I would want them to wait until they had seen if it affects them in any way TBH. For all we know Joe might hardly talk to the players and Pardew might be able to band them together. Slightly wishful thinking, but I do think the relationship between a DoF and the players is quite distant. They must be even more frustrated than we are with the incidents of the last couple of days. I can't see Pardew being capable of reassuring them that everything is under control at all..

I believe so. Is it not very likely that Pardew signed his contract knowing something like this could happen? Remember why and how he got the job. I don't think anyody except Fat Mike knew what was coming...

We blatantly wanted him for ages, chasing him for over a year(?) then this dying c*** comes in and within a day of being announced DOF Douglas' suddenly not right for us? f*** off and die man. f***s sake. Did you read my post? I'd say he'd have an excellent chance, especially with Ashley already found guilty once and Kinnear being so open about interfering with Pardew's remit.

I really can't see how bringing in Kinnear as a DoF to get Pardew to walk is cost effective. Firstly, Pardew is on a low basic wage, so the payoff would be less than what previous managers like Allardyce got. Secondly, and more importantly, if this is indeed the plan, all it would take is for Pardew to start gathering evidence in the form of mails, voicemails or even his own meeting notes to have a very good case for constructive dismissal. Ashley/the club have been found guilty of this before, and this time the case would be even more convincing as Kinnear is being such a moron out in the open. If found guilty of constructive dismissal a second time, dragging our name through the mud again in the process, the payout would be no less than it would be for a straight sack, and quite probably way more as Pardew could then claim part of the bonus' he could have made, as well as declaring they've made him unemployable. Didn't Keegan charge for 25 million at the time? So, I fear Pardew is here to stay, and Ashley genuinely thinks bringing back Kinnear to help the football side of the club out is a good idea as wacky as that sound to anyone with a modicum of sanity. The fact it's pissing us off is a nice little bonus for him too.
